so i got my phone back after a week of being iPhone-less. it wasn't so bad really. it gave me a kind of break from being sucked into the digital world all day.
no Whatsapp, no 24/7 access to emails, no Smurfs, no snapping photos impromptu, no twitter, no blogging!!! ok for some people sure die one. my phone was actually ready for collection a day earlier than the day i went to go pick it up, but somehow their sms notification never reached me, and i didn't get their call. hmph. so lucky i went down to the centre to ask. picked up gongcha while i was at it.
btw, i totally respect people who have to contend to bitchy customers in their line of work and still put up a smiley face the whole time.
make sure you have a proper phone to fall back onto just in case your primary phone goes wonky. in my case, my trusty Sony E's charger sudah kong so i had no choice but to use the husband's HTC diamond. god i hate that phone. it heats up during calls and when it's plugged into its charger, and the battery life is really short even though you've already had it charged overnight. the menu lags too, it takes ages for it to start up (i keep imagining in case of emergencies, you might die first before the phone fully loads itself to call for help hahah). it doesn't have the most responsive touch screen so whether i like it or not i have to navigate the phone using a stylus because sometimes jabbing your finger at the screen ends up fruitless.
in the car i'm able to multitask with the iPhone but i fail at handling a stylus-operated phone with a screen so tiny you practically have to focus. for the life of me, i can't even remember why Significant Other ever bought that phone in the first place (i think it was about time he changed phones but the iPhone wasn't out yet. also fil comes to mind, hmmm...). so until today, i really dislike htc, no matter what you tell me.
well anyway, my last backup data was dated sometime in august, so i lost 3 months' worth of data, mainly sms and chat conversations. oh and i lost my progress in the Smurfs too, sigh. so now i'm back to square one. pfft. i did manage to manually retrieve my photos before i sent the phone to Maxis so i'm glad i still have that. although i wish i could put them back onto the Camera Roll, but i don't think that's possible. oh well. about time i delete unwanted photos and archive them anyway. and i got to reorganize my applications, trimming the ones i don't use.
ahhh... iPhone, it's good to have you back.
i watched a Malay movie at the cinema with sil on Tuesday, Ombak Rindu. who would've thunk?? =P. Significant Other doesn't layan Malay movies at the cinema, we both would rather watch on DVD instead. one fine evening sil WA'd me and said 'jom tengok wayang' so i'm like oookay. my WA friends were so into the movie (and Aaron Aziz - maybe i should name my kid Aaron too hahahah) i just had to get curious. the movie is based on a book, in case anyone doesn't know. i didn't either. after watching the movie my friend decided to go hunt for the book, so that's how i know =P.
we wanted to watch at MBO but unfortunately they didn't show the movie there, so we ended up at Pyramid. i was fasting that day so i made a pit stop at Wendy's (baked potato with chilli & cheese!) before heading over to sushi king with sil. thanks to tham tham, i am officially in love with their raw salmon dish.
we got in late to the movie since sil went to fix her phone first. i was so amazed that the cinema was full down to the front row @_@ so i guess we were lucky we managed to get good seats, i bought them over the counter because TGV's ticketing system is nuts. gah i had to go watch Breaking Dawn at GSC the other day because their system was wonky. probably since they're upgrading the cinemas so their movies are limited, perhaps?
i was such a noob about the movie that i accidentally asked for 'Ombak Cinta' instead, hahahah. i think the ticketing lady over the counter laughed at me. ooops.
my verdict? ok la, for a Malay movie. nobody died. haha. excuse me for not knowing who the actors were, save for 'abang aaron' lol. lisa surihani reminds me of my friend Amie, i dunno why. can i have hair like her? cantikkkkk. the movie was heart moving indeed, but still nyampah jugak for reasons only known to me hahahahhaha. maybe i simply dislike love movies because they tend to make you move. i dunno lah. malay movies sudah maju, kan?
i want to watch this. this reminds me of Love Actually and Valentine's Day.
i just realized today it's been 4 years being married. thank God i'm still sane. may my sanity does not turn into insanity. just kidding. here's to you, dear. happy anniversary. i can bet you he's too busy studying to even remember what day it is.
