movie flicks

here's a few movies i've watched within the past month that's worth mentioning.

San Andreas

... not long after that, a series of earthquakes erupted.
or was it the other way round? hmmmmm.
the only movie i don't like the Rock in was GI Joe. that movie sucked.
Significant Other thinks Alexandra Daddario is hot.
when in doubt, always keep a plane or heli at bay somewhere.

Mad Max: Fury Road

i would recommend that you not view the trailer before watching this, like i did.
i dreaded watching the movie, until i was dragged by Significant Other to watch it with him.
however my opinion turned 360 degrees after that, haha.
it is not your typical movie.
i didn't even watch the previous Mad Max movies (previously played by Mel Gibson, now played by Tom Hardy).
but i seriously enjoyed the movie. hahahahaha.
just watch lah. see what i mean.
Nicholas Hoult has a role in the movie (think the Beast, Warm Bodies). lol.

Jurassic World

who thinks CHRIS PRATT is HOT???
*raise of uncountable hands*

who thinks RAPTORS are hot???
*cricket noise from the ladies*

lol just kidding.
i can still remember watching the first ever Jurassic Park movie, and am definitely not gonna miss the latest installment.
who doesn't remember that toilet scene??? haha. morbid memory.
the movie's score has always been epic, and always will be.
funny how nobody reprised their roles from the first movie (no, that Asian guy doesn't count).
the first movie to have the dinosaur park fully functional.
gosh, i so want to ride in a gyrosphere.
oh and i want Claire's car - the Mercedes GLE Coupe.

Minions

bring the kids along.
Sophia, being the 2-year old that she is, was simply enthralled by the Dinosaur, Scarlet Overkill, then halfway throughout the movie got bored and decided that sitting in my lap and feeding me popcorn was much more interesting.
lol.
anyhow, the movie's not as boombastic as i thought it could be, but it's still very worth the watch.
who DOESN'T LIKE MINIONS???
Scarlet Overkill's character could be more evil, but hey, they call it the Minion movie for a reason.
oh, Bob knows abit of Malay. did you know? haha.
stick around until the end credits for music sung by the cast, if you're into that sort of thing.

ok the baby's awake. jya ne~

my favorite kinda lush

it's 4 in the morning and as usual whenever Significant Other has an early morning flight, i'm his secondary alarm clock.

my random rant/rave of the day is how much i like the effect of Lush's Jason & the Argan Oil bar shampoo on my hair: insta-awesome i tell you. i've only just finished my Godiva bar which i bought in September 2013 (yep, that's how long it lasted me) and i officiated the new bar two days ago.

meet Jason, my hair's latest squeeze
On a quest for stronger, shinier, softer hair? Try this argan oil-packed, Rose Jam-scented bar. Argan oil is combined with glycerine to give your hair touchable softness and lustrous shine. From this solid foundation restorative rose absolute and oil balances the scalp making this bar particularly perfect for setting fair hair ablaze with brightness and strength.

new shampoo bars!

they haven't released the new shampoo bars when i was in Prague so i tumpang my friend's order from the UK when they were released in mid-December last year. Jason smells exactly like Rose Jam, and during that time i was so into roses and was specially tempted by its argan oil content. usually i'd have to wait a couple of days for my hair's natural oils to kick back in (i hate the feel of squeaky clean hair) but my hair felt super soft immediately after using Jason. seriously, tak tipu. hair conditioner below included, of course.

usual hair regime (old photo): bar shampoo + conditioner

unfortunately now i get a headache whenever i leave the shampoo bar container open; the scent of Rose Jam can be overwhelming haha.

the other shampoo bar i was tempted to try was Honey I Washed My Hair, mainly because it's toffee-scented very similar to Honey I Washed the Kids shower gel. but since i was pregnant at the time i wasn't too fond of its caramel-ish scent. i wasn't too fond of Snow Fairy either (and yet friends were telling me how awesome it was lol). i noticed pregnancy can really affect your olfactory preferences, before and after. maybe i should try HIWMH next once my Jason finishes (which might probably be one year from now at the rate my shampoo bar shrinks =P~) now that my nose is back to normal.

Ro's Argan Body Conditioner also smells of Rose Jam. did i ever tell you that i absolutely love this skin conditioner? it substitutes moisturizing after showering, only that you rinse it off afterwards, leaving your skin feeling moisturized. however i wouldn't recommend this if you're the type of person that prefers to come out of the bathroom feeling squeaky clean. Significant Other once commented that my skin felt different (as in 'not as dry as before' *cough*) so i guess the product is making a bit of a difference on me, eh? *mode sedikit perasan*

This is chock-a-block with delicious butters and oils to leave your skin looking plumped up, gorgeous, and smelling of roses. Take this into the shower or bath, massage over wet skin and rinse off just as you would a hair conditioner. We've used deeply nourishing argan oil, which is thought to have anti-ageing properties as it's rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, and added brazil nut and almond oils as well as cocoa, shea and cupuaƧu butters to leave your skin supple and radiant.

Ro's Argan BC, another favorite of mine

two other Lush body products i got to try are Dreamwash shower smoothie and Rub Rub Rub shower scrub.

shower cream and shower scrub

everyone's familiar with Dreamwash, right?

A soft and gentle shower wash that’s packed with the best ingredients to soothe and cool sore or sensitive skin. Scoop this out with your hand and use as you would a shower gel. Its soft blend of soap, soothing aloe vera gel and calamine gel will leave you feeling cool, calm, and perfected. Tea tree oil is antiseptic and antibacterial, while rose absolute calms redness.

i was sold on the 'to soothe and cool sore or sensitive skin', especially since i have very bad bouts of eczema. the nice scent was an added bonus. the texture reminds me of clay, which washes off easily and leaves your body surprisingly squeaky clean (which i normally relate with bubbles, of which this product has none). you can pair this product with Dream Cream but i'm not much of a fan of cream products (hence me using Ro's Argan BC with hopes of eliminating cream/lotion from my daily routine! =P).

Rose Jam was a limited edition shower gel so naturally i had to get one for myself =P. i ended up getting a bunch more for friends and family. i would've bought more Snow Fairy as well, but they were out of the smallest size bottle =(. the following two products were my first purchase at the Lush Store in Prague. haha! i felt like a little kid in a Toy Store. semua mau.

Dream Cream and Rose Jam

and here's Rub Rub Rub. a girl's gotta exfoliate too, right?

An exfoliating shower scrub that can also be used to wash, volumise and add shine to hair. Packed with mineral-rich sea salt, Rub Rub Rub can be used as a gentle scrub on wet skin, or on dry skin for a really good buff before you get in the shower. Sea salt, a natural antiseptic as well as exfoliant, is combined with lots of lemon juice to leave your skin feeling rejuvenated and it also adds shine and volume to hair.

i use this scrub directly onto dry skin because i like the feel/idea of buffering off all the dirt and dead skin cells from my skin (sort of like sandpapering myself haha!). i've never tried it on my hair before, since i've got my shampoo bar for that. or is the description talking about body hair? bahahahahahahah. anyway, the scent reminds me of clothes detergent, i'm not sure why. to me this product is so-so, once this finishes i'm gonna see if Lush has any other body scrubs i could try.

what's in Rub Rub Rub

on facial cleansers, i've always been an Olay user and wouldn't look anywhere else, but when one of my friends ordered Angels on Bare Skin, i just haaaaad to kepochi as well T__T. lol. i think this was the only facial cleanser that's suitable with my skin (if there are any others, please don't let me know, i don't wanna know). i like its lavender smell!

Inspired by a medieval recipe and topped off with lavender flowers, this contains kaolin to absorb grease and dirt, leaving skin clean and nourished. Lavender oil and rose absolute calm the skin. As you mix your solid cleanser with water to form a paste, the ground almonds create almond milk which helps to tone and brighten the skin. This can be used all over your body as well as your face.

unfortunately for me, they were out of the smallest tub, so they recommended me Buche De Noel, a Christmas limited edition almost similar to AOBS, minus the lavender smell. instead it has its own smell that reminds me of Christmas and nuts. HAHA. note that these two make good cleansers, but not as makeup removers.

AOBS on the left, Buche De Noel on the right

got a bathtub at home? The Comforter has got to be my most favorite bubble bar ever. i love this even more than bath bombs. to me, bath bombs provide the oils, bubble bar provides - what else - bubbles! the bubble bar is so big you can use it up to four times if you're Miss Kemut like me. it smells nice too! and it's pink.

The Comforter

due to Lush products being freshly made, i really recommend that you finish all  Lush products within the specific time period as mentioned on the packaging, unless they're self preserving. else you should store your products in a fridge to extend their shelf life if you don't want your unused/half-used product to spoil, like how my Buche De Noel cleanser did =(. i was only halfway done with that tub when it went all moldy on me. oh well. my AOBS is now safely stored away in my fridge, lol.
