my gula baker

one fine day, i came across this in instagram:

and immediately sms-ed the number to register Dayana. haha.
she did mention that one of her ambitions was to be a baker, hoho
but the last time i asked her and Dinara to bake cookies with me, both of them ended up MIA and i found them upstairs snoring on my bedroom floor T___T.

apparently Gula Cakery was only 15 minutes from the house. been meaning to drop by to try their awesome food (their cakes i hear are awesome, the last time they had a bazaar at SACC Mall they were sold out by the time i arrived, sobs). sil has taken classes before with them and has nothing to say but good things about them. so i is smitten!

the little monster at the start of class:

while waiting for her to finish, i headed upstairs to their cafe. Sunday was nasi kerabu and kuey teow day. but since i was alone and have never tried their cakes before (i've been dying to try one since like forever), i decided on a slice of Peanut Butter and Chocolate cake + a pot of hot tea.

... and did a bit of crappy journaling with whatever things i had in my bag.

i forgot that Gula Cakery had a small section in the cafe specially designed for kids; i left the other kids at home because a) i didn't want Dinara to feel left out because she wasn't registered for the class, and b) too many kids in a restaurant + no form of entertainment = no peace for Mommy.
i'm coming again next time with the kids, Nani.

3.30pm i went downstairs to see what had become of my little baker. Nani told me she was really quiet but followed whatever she was told to do. Nani asked me if Dayana bakes at home, or if she was the one that had wanted to take the class; i told her NEVER (IT WAS ALL MY IDEA) hahahhahahah.

see my daughter's expression? so much enthusiasm there.

Nani was/is really awesome. she oozes with so much enthusiasm it's hard to hate her. haha. she has this never-ending positive vibe that really works for her. did i mention to you that it's infectious as well?

Dayana was happy to take a photo with Nani:

and by the end of the class she was really excited over her cupcakes.
btw, that background reminds me of that pink sprinkle washi i have at home. LOL.

school holiday's coming up and i'm gonna have to think of ways to keep the kids occupied other than being in front of the iPad all day. she managed to learn from Daddy on how to hook up the iPad display to the tv, so she's been watching youtube all day on the big screen T___T.

tlc sports day 2014

this year tlc held their Sports Day indoors, at Setia Badminton Academy. and since it was held indoors, they held the event in the afternoon instead of the usual morning.

each year they combine students from other tlc branches for the event - Damai, Kota Damansara and Ttdi Jaya. it started to rain when i arrived, so the event got delayed while waiting for other parents to arrive. the hall started to feel stuffy too.

so on Saturday we used Waze to get to the location. upon registering, they kids were given a colorful door gift each. Dayana had to wear a turtle hat for the marching ceremony, hehe. she was sorted into the Red team, Dinara was put into Yellow.

door gifts

after the march past and the kids' performances, the first event was for the 4-year olds. spot Dinara in the line-up below! muka selamba je. the kids had to run from one end to the other and carry out a small task before running back to the other side. anak orang lain kemain lagi lari, anak i pula? lenggang kangkung sambil makan angin, until one of the teachers had to drag her along, hahahah. gila tak competitive Dinara ni -___-.

minah gediks in the line-up

*shuffle shuffle shuffle*

then i waited for the 6-year olds turn. there's Dayana lining up below, with the turtle hat still on her head =P. her first event was the 3-legged race. these kids did pretty well actually, shuffling from one end to the other without falling. they also had a balloon-blowing competition, but we all know Dayana knows nuts about blowing balloons on her own haha.

i met one of my neighbours here, her granddaughter goes to the same school as Dayana too.

spot the turtle

three-legged race

this year the kids didn't go home empty-handed. they each got medals! mak pulak excited.

my medals!

the happy camper

there was also a competition held for the kids' parents, mainly the men. they had to create a three-tier human pyramid, like what cheerleaders do best. here's a photo i took from afar. our tlc branch got 4th place, bahahahah.

human pyramid

going home now. toodles!

going home!

piercing post

and you still can't see her tooth

Sophia cut her first tooth at around 8 months old, which is wayy earlier than her older two sisters, who celebrated their first birthday toothless. so far only one tooth has popped up. some people say these teeth usually come in twos, but i dunno. tried to get the little one to open up but she refused. you can only glimpse her pearly white whenever she cries in mock protest. the only other way is that you stick a finger in her mouth and hope she doesn't clamp her gums onto it. hahah.

post-ear piercing

Dayana finally got her ears pierced. she's been wanting to do so since forever but Mommy kept procrastinating because she didn't know where to get them pierced. when asking around, i even made a bm-fail statement:

'kat mana nak tebuk telinga kat area xxxxxx?'

hebat BM i. sigh.

one day my friend told me i could get her ears pierced at the jewellers at pkns so i brought Dayana there on Saturday evening when Daddy and Dinara was sleeping (i wanted to bring Dinara too but since she was sleeping... too bad next time then).

when i asked Dayana again if she still wanted to to pierce her ears, she enthusiastically said yes, so i told her 'sakit kejap je, lepas tu tak sakit dah, ok?'. dia pun ok. i told her we'd go to Old mcDonald if she was a good girl.

it cost me rm24 to get her ears pierced. i let her choose the studs, she chose the round ones with white diamonds, because i told her the silver heart ones (her initial choice) were too small you couldn't even see that it's a heart =P. she didn't even cry when the lady pierced one ear, and then the other. but she was very very very very quiet throughout. control macho kut, hehe. so far, no infections, no continuous pain and so forth.

her new studs!

but she did worry about her ears that first night, she asked about how she was gonna sleep during the night, what if she squished her ears if she slept on her side? i gave her one of those U-shaped pillows that people bring with them onto flights and told her to set her head in between so that her head wouldn't move left and right. HAHAHA.

i jokingly told her that if her ears still hurt the next day, she had to stop eating chicken and eggs for awhile until her ears healed completely. i thought she wasn't really listening to me when i said that but when we were at mcD later i asked her if she wanted a chicken burger, she said 'tapi mami tadi cakap tak boleh makan chicken?' haha =P so she does listen to me even when she looks like she's not!

Dinara's first day of school

it's the new year and guess who's going to school for the first time ever???
=D

cik kiah kita yang nombor 2 tu lah. kekekeke.
she wails each time we send Dayana at school for her reading class during the December holidays. each time we tell her that she'll be going to school next year. and so the 'year' has come. HOHO.

4-5 year olds start on the 7th. Dayana starts her first day the day after, mostly due to the teachers wanting to have extra hands to handle the new students who would most definitely wail their heads off, my kid included, haha.

seems like there's been an influx of students this year, compared to the previous years. a good sign perhaps?

her progress so far?
2nd day: spent the morning sitting in her sister's class *sweat*
3rd day: i couldn't get a proper word out of Dinara but according to Dayana, she stayed in her own class
4th day: class hasn't even started and she's already wailing for her sister *double sweat*

and i thought having her sister around would help with the transition T__T. at least i don't have the problem of dragging her out of bed. the problem starts when we arrive at the school gates. LOL.

second day of school

this year there are advance classes and one of the requirements is to be able to read English and BM fluently. the Daddy wants Dayana to be in that class so every night when possible, it's Peter and Jane for her. what book would be recommended for BM reading?

"Peter is here and Jane is here"

btw, Dinara hebat tau in reading. she can read with her eyes focusing on everything else in the room except for on her book T__T.

(more photos to be updated later)

btw, transportation for the kids is difficult to find. and if you do find one, they don't come cheap! maybe i'll resign and become a van driver instead. HAHAHAHAH

also, to start the new schooling year, i got the kids a couple of bag tags. saves the ugliness of having to write their name with marker directly onto their school bags. marker ink spreads on the fabric, so not nice. been thinking of asking my friend to make one for Sophia too (future planning hahaha). norl3y, i pun nak bag tag for my medela boleh? taruk nama ai. kekekekeke (i'm serious).

bag tags courtesy of Norl3y

one night before bedtime Dinara was poring over her Elmo activity book, and one activity required her to find hidden objects in the picture. she was really good at it, being able to find the objects without much help from me.

then there was this object - a red soda can - that had a total of 10 hidden in the picture. she easily pointed out one to me and proceeded to turn the page.
i stopped her and told her that she needed to find 10 soda cans in the picture. she thought for a minute, then pointed to a soda can. "one!" she counted.
and then she pointed to another soda can, and said, "TEN!"

make me a princess

wasn't planned. Daddy wanted to get something for her and they were having a promo - if you buy rm80 above you'd get a makeover and a 4R photo for free. too bad we couldn't afford a whole freaking album, huhu. rm400+ seemed just abit over the top for about 10 - 12 photos. maybe next time, ok sweetie?

nevertheless, she enjoyed herself. she's a big girl now, can smile for the camera all by herself. especially the make up part. if given the chance she'd jahanamkan my whole make up set all on her own (which she and her sister did once, but luckily they only got hold of my blusher. she new exactly which part of her face to make up, unlike the younger one who assumed that her whole face was an open canvas for her to color on - too bad no photos -_-). it was a bit tricky to narrow down her photos to just one, so that's why we ended up with two (one photo cost rm30!!! @_@). wahhh buat duit la orang zaman skarang. chis.

adik wasn't around at the time. besides, i don't think she has the patience to look directly into the camera and smile for even just a few minutes.

Princess Dayana all dolled up
sigh... growing up so fast. she looks tembam, doesn't she? hehe

so much for secrets and the number two

Dayana:

bought Dayana a jacket for her the other day. told her to keep it a secret from Daddy and let's surprise him when picking him up at the airport that weekend. she readily agreed.

when Daddy called on Skype later that evening, the very first thing that came out of her mouth was, 'Daddy, Mommy beli jacket for Dayana!'

T__T

Daddy misunderstood and thought that she wanted him to get her one. so he said ok he'll get her one when he gets back.

'tapi Mommy dah beli dah la Daddy', annoyed that he didn't listen properly to what she just said.

so much for keeping it a secret, Miss Blabbermouth.

Dinara:

after recording the kids singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the iPad, i told the kids to give me the peace sign with their little hands.

'Peace!' the eldest said obediently, holding up two fingers, successfully making the peace sign.

'TWO!' the youngest yelled triumphantly, only managing to hold up her thumb and forefinger in her attempt to do the peace sign.

two? i mean seriously?? apa kaitan making the peace sign and the number two? two fingers? where did she learn that from? i didn't teach her that @_@

********************************************************************************

i was merely resting my eyes while lying down on the bed when Dinara comes to me, slaps me on my face and proclaimed, 'wake up!'

T__T

insistent, eh?

finding the eye

for about 2 weeks, i had been searching high and low for the eye Dayana had purportedly lost after she removed Mr. Potato Head's body pieces one by one and deliberately threw them all around the room, but to no avail.

i kept thinking to myself that the missing piece will eventually turn up, judging from my track record of being able to find what i'm looking for - but note the word eventually, lol (i can happily search things for you, but i can't guarantee you when i would find it haha).

i gave up looking for the eye on purpose (as in don't want to waste my life after crawling on my hands and knees looking under furniture proved to be futile) because if i think i did keep looking for it, i might just burn the eye when i find it simply out of sheer irritation *kita bako!*

anyway, earlier this morning i was busy looking for the kids's Belle figurine that they had misplaced yet again (sigh, story of my life). i searched under the beds and among all their other toys, still no Belle. was just about to give up when SQUEEEEE!!! i found the eye! (i have this habit of finding things other than the one i'm looking for) hidden under our tv table amongst Significant Other's chess set, a bunch of cobwebs and coin boxes. how it ended up under there was way beyond me T___T

so... tada! Mr. Potato Head can see again!

yo. me Potato. who you?

oh back to the search for Belle. i kept pestering Dayana to help me look for it, but as usual she ignored me. although sometimes she'd help me look but i'd end up having to deal with double the mess than i began with, so fine. hmpph. the kids were cranky so i told them to round up their bottles and blankets and bam in front of the tv in our room. Dinara went to her room to get her blanket and you know what? when she came back, in her hands were her blanket, and BELLE.

apparently she found it while i couldn't. hebat. and knowing her she won't be able to tell me where she found it in the first place. hahahahah. or was she the one that purposely hid it from me? O_o

and you know what Dayana did? being dissatisfied that her sister found it and she didn't, she grabbed Belle from Dinara, left the room, and then came running back saying, 'look Mommy, i found it!!!' while brandishing the toy in my face. 'it was in the pillow, Mommy!'

T____T

adeh. the concept of finding things clearly has no impact to her. sigh.

for the kids' lunch i took Dayana downstairs to make macaroni. she enjoyed stirring the macaroni, tossing in the crabsticks and cheese into the mix. i was out of minced meat though, phooey. i didn't know how it tasted like since it was fasting month anyway, but apparently Dayana seemed to like it. she practically finished the whole thing and almost had none left over for her sister. she was soo happy she'd go, 'look, Dayana masak!' to anyone who had ears.

the happy camper. tiara tu, tak boleh blah.

maybe it's because she made it herself that added on to the yumminess of it.

or maybe she was just plain hungry, hahah.

a few quick stuff on mek Dinara:
- loves to eat on her own. and she's not yet even 2. Dayana never showed any interest to spoon feed herself until she had a competitor - her younger sister.
- i find it amusing watching Dinara watching tv. she'd go 'uh oh!' during certain parts of a movie, or 'oOooOooh!' during others. HAHAHAHA. she seems to have a slightly higher attention span than her elder sister. her current favorite movie: Despicable Me (the only movie i am able to watch over and over again thanks to those minions. have you ever watched them on youtube? so funny).
- cries her eyes out whenever i walk out the front door without her. i forgot when Dayana outgrew this phase. but at least she doesn't cry when i leave her to take a shower.
- calls me 'ma-mei'. calls her Daddy 'ma-mei' too. and i thought Daddy was easier to pronounce than Mommy? @_@
- if we give her a drumstick to munch on, and if she sees a bowl of dip in front of her, she will automatically want to dip her chicken into the bowl, then suck on the dip. ni keje Auntie Enn nih. at one point she kept dipping her chicken in chilli sauce and barely realized it was hot. hahah. hampehs.

hari2 Dayana has been asking me for a Barbie girl birthday cake. who knows anyone who can make one? we think we're gonna celebrate their birthday on a small scale this year.

on another note, i need to justify why i should keep this. i have too many purple already.

pretty in Dayana's eyes

was Facetiming with Significant Other last evening in front of the TV. i had my glasses off.

Dayana came to me and said, "Mommy, pakai glasses la Mommy!"

(dia ni pantang tengok anomalies - if i only have a top on without any bottom, she'll insist that i wear pants immediately, or if it's bedtime she'll insist i change into baju tido, etc.)

then Daddy asked her, "Mommy nampak pretty tak kalau Mommy pakai glasses ke tak pakai glasses?"

she thought for a moment, then she replied "pakai glasses lah".

so i asked her, "Daddy pretty tak?" dia cakap tak. when i asked her why? she answered, "sebab Daddy tak pakai glasses". hahahaha.

but when i asked her if she and adik were pretty or not, she said "pretty lah!". which is kinda contradicting because both of them don't wear glasses either. LOL.

run away

Dayana definitely knows when i'm mad at her.

last night Dayana she was too indecisive - nak iPod lah, nak watch TV lah (she calls it 'televisi' T___T), nak hijack my PC to play Sims Social, nak susu lah, nak draw lah... and it was 11.30pm at night and tomorrow was a school day. grrrrr.

so mula lah Mommy nak meletup with impatience. i was at the PC busy clicking away at the time (multitasking la kan =P). i started babbling away at her for not listening blablablabla...

she came to me and said,

"Mommy, kalau Mommy marah, nanti Dayana run away!"

i was like, whaaaaaaaaaaat?

hmmm. she must've actually listened to all those empty threats that if she didn't clean up after herself and didn't want to listen to Mommy, i'd run away and leave her behind. or perhaps it was because in Alvin & the Chipmunks, Theodore ran away from home - i've been having the movie played on rerun for so many days now at her request - mau muntah mak.

so out of curiosity, i asked her, 'Dayana nak run away pergi mana?'. i never told her where i was going anyway.

you know what she answered?

she was sitting on the floor at the time. she reached out an arms length and pointed to a spot on the floor with a finger. "sini!" the said most confidently.

*imagine multiple sweat drops forming on my head like those Japanese anime*

i want shoe

how was your weekend? my weekends are getting crazier and crazier... and i'm getting physically exhausted each day. thank God for the morphine in green tea, and let's hope that age hasn't caught up with me yet.

i haven't bought shoes in 2 years, did you know? the last pair i bought was my black Skechers (the one i wear practically everywhere) that i bought in Penang sometime in May 2010 back when Significant Other was studying there. i was browing through vivy's blog when i came across the photo below. and decided that despite abandoning heels so long ago, i wanted to own a pair. because they look ridiculously sexy. never mind that they tower at 5" tall. doesn't help that anything she wears will look incredibly interesting on her =P.

at the moment, i don't know whether i should laugh or cry that they don't have it in my size. but i'm secretly hoping that they do have a pair in my size hidden somewhere in the deepest corner of their stock room. shhhhh.

screen shot

on Saturday,i took the kids out to Amcorp Mall to see my friend's mom. wanted to make matching baju kurung for them this year and i needed to ensure their measurements were correct. word of advice: never serve two opinionated kids milo dinosaur, especially when you are lacking of extra hands. huhu. on the way back, Dinara spotted Ronald McDonald, so we stopped to take a long-lost family photo.

say cheese~!

and since i promised Dayana, i brought the kids to the playground in S7. oh they had so much fun going up and down the slide repeatedly. since it was already late, the playground wasn't so congested, i really don't like it when the elder kids get all raunchy and conquer the playground.

Dayana insisted i take this photo

another word of advice for me: it is futile to attempt to finish your prayers with these little sugar-high rascals jumping all over the prayer mat, thinking that it's funny to be draped in a long white piece of cloth T_T. how the heck do you guys khusyuk with the kiddos around? i ended up storming into the other room to finish my prayer. itu pun diorang diam2 sneaked into the room via the connecting bathroom. grrr.

ok please ignore the kain that Dinara was wearing. the telekung Dayana was wearing was donated by Auntie Norley and since i didn't have a pair for Dinara, i used the bottom half of the telekung and simply sarung it over her head. chomel kan? AHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA

budak-budak inesen konon

Dinara sudah pandai mintak susu on her own. when she wants it she'll go 'nak shu shu~' in this wispy voice of hers. suara style kesian pun ada. haha. then bile dah habis she'll hand you the bottle. she'll persistently go, 'nah! nah! NAHHHH!' and won't stop until you take the bottle out of her hands.

Dayana pulak, will go, 'Dayana nak two je, Dayana taknak three, TWO je'. three, two, refers to the number of bottle refills. hogwash! 3/4 of the time she would berjaya kelentong me. haih. maybe i should teach her how to bancuh her own susu next time. what say you? =P~

toy story

Dayana finally got her first Barbie doll, no thanks to Toy Story 2. she kept asking me to buy Barbie each and every single day when i got back from work, but i told her to go ask her Daddy since Mommy sudah bankrupt. so the Daddy came back last weekend and brought the kids to Toys R Us. i asked her if she wanted Woody, she said takmo. haha (i did find Buzz Lightyear on one of the shelves. pun dia takmo).

Dayana's favorite phrase in Toy Story: "Money Money Money!"

with her first ever Barbie

chis. Barbie doll lagi laku dari Bamboletta? i used to have a collection of Barbies. Mommy threw them away i think. haha.

the Daddy helped her choose the prettiest one @_@

the younger one, she didn't have anything specific in mind. she's easily swayed - hand her something better than the first, confirm she'll take the latter.

Daddy trying to bribe her with that weird noise making doll, tapi macam tak menjadi je hahah

but! she did find something she seemed to enjoy. first... spot the little one.

haihhhh~

potential F1 female driver hahahah

once she was in, she refused to come out. she was so contended in the car that she didn't mind us abandoning her. she started talking to herself, turning the wheel, imitating sape ntah i pun tak tau LOL. tapi... tengok lah harga dia @_@

i think i might need to get another Barbie doll. sometimes Dinara plays with Dayana's Barbie whenever she doesn't notice.

mil is in UK now for two months. Tuesday night we sent her to the airport and brought the kids along. Auntie Enn came along as well. during dinner with mil last Saturday their Auntie bought Dayana a Hello Kitty stuffed toy (eergh, i don't like Hello Kitties!!!). so this time round at the airport she gave Dinara a Happy Meal toy - a small toy car.

si Dayana pulak, pandai. when she waited expectantly and didn't get anything from her Auntie, she asked, 'Dayana tak dapat ke? mana Dayana punye? sian Dayana tak dapat pun~~~' muke innocent habis @_@. i seriously don't know who taught her this. pandai pulak mintak simpati!

seb baik Dinara wasn't so interested in the toy since she was more interested in hijacking Auntie Enn's coke straw. i told Dayana that the toy tu adik punye, but she still doesn't get the concept of sharing and sendiri declare the car hers. sigh.

while waiting for mil's flight to board, i gave rm1 to Dinara to play with, and as usual si Dayana pun mau rm1, so i told her to get it from mil or Auntie Enn =P. then not long after running around the airport she came up to me and asked, 'Mommy, where's my singgeringgit?' i blur kejap, until i found out that mil ajar dia cakap 'singgle ringgit', haha.

so... this is officially the first wrap i sold, regretted, and bought again. LOL.

May 10, 2012

Dayana's cam skills

so my one and only action shot with swallows...

looks like Dayana's camera skills have increased just a tiny bit... she managed to get a feasible pic among so many blurred ones... LOL (although compared to my iPhone, her iPod photos come out sort of grainy). i really didn't get it when tbw mamas keeps selling and buying the same wrap all over again... til now =D.

oh and please kill me, but i only realized i never had an action shot with this one until yesterday. because it was all folded up neatly in its original bag, buried under all the pillows and stuffed toys on my bed. oops.

roses ember! another photo taken by Dayana, since my other cameraman is currently out of commission and skills might have possibly gone rusty. so glad i came across the preorder when i did. this is a keeper. i find i prefer wraps with less bounce as of late. it's a size 4, btw if anyone plans to dibs this. only stick thin people like me prefers this size for all carries.

for the first time ever, i reached the officer before 8am. haha. supposedly i had an early training, but for three days straight it got cancelled. next week perhaps. i'm addicted to drinking tea in the office these days too. i guess i finally got sick of choco-chino, a more fancier name than 'milo' (bak kata encik kopi mesin di pantry haha). however, i take all my teas with 2 spoons of sugar, so i don't know if i can call this healthy... i like the smell of coffee but ain't a caffeine drinker (i hate the smell you omit when you go to the loo afterwards hahahahaha).

i've been addicted to Sims ever since joining a gaming community (no thanks to Liz =P) and yeah for some weird reason it's addictive. if only i could earn real money from playing this.

this goes to show i really need a new hobby. i told Significant Other i wanted to buy a sewing machine, he told me to go borrow mil's. uhhhh... ooookay.

oOoOoOoh, my friend Atiqah finally achieved her childhood dream! so happy for her. i wish i was 10 years younger. LOL. congrats babe =D.

mother's Day is coming up this weekend. i bet Significant Other will probably forget about it like last year (last year he got lucky that we happened to be outing at Sunway Pyramid) and my kids are too young to say 'happy mom's day' to me unless someone tells them to.

aih. i miss my grandmother. haven't seen her in three years.

i'm babbling here because i don't know what to blog about. but i just feel like writing it all down here.

April 30, 2012

Dayana's camera escapade

clockwise from top L: Elmo on tv, fork her sister threw on the floor, wires ntah kat mana dia jumpe, minnie mouse water bottle, bibik's room, blur 2-yo kid. haha

this is what happens when you leave your daughter with your iPhone. semua bende pun mau amik gambar, including her bewildered sister yang kene tambat kat high chair. hoho.

she's always finding ways to use my iPhone. the last time i allowed her to recklessly use my iPhone, i scolded her for finishing my free cash in Snoopy's Street Fair, and she understood me very well, because each time she begs for my iPhone (whenever her iPod habis battery) and when i say No she'll counter with this:

"Dayana tak main Snoopy, Dayana main Angry Bird je!"

April 23, 2012

maid-less

that's it folks. it's me back to being maidless.

it's like a win-lose situation. on the winning side, i'm partly relieved that i don't have to be responsible for another person, mostly being her welfare, don't have to feel guilty for bossing people around, bla bla bla (in other words simply being an employer =P). no need to go through all the hassle that comes with having a maid. but on the losing side, i lose a dedicated person to take care of my kids. and somehow, it feels kinda lonely (or empty) because it's like you suddenly lose someone that 'seems' to care for your well being (and also to manage the unruly physical household haha).

i also need to put the kids to sleep. huarghhhhh. not an easy task i tell you. the give-up method would be to let them drop to sleep after they've exhausted their battery power. and that can take awhile @_@.

i'll live, i guess. i always do, somehow. DEPRESSED!

anyway, just wanted to share something i heard Dayana say the other day... we were downstairs and i was turning on the DVD player for the kids to watch - mil bought a bunch of alif ba ta CDs for the kids to watch (i guess she thinks Dora and Sesame Street have been overplayed a little too much).

then Dayana told me, 'Bibik tak pandai mati-in' (means the maid doesn't know how to turn the DVD player off).

hahahah. so a abit of Indonesian did rub off on her.

Dinara still calls me 'Ma Ma'. if she wants something she'll go 'Ma Ma?' in a questioning sort of way? then datang tepuk2 badan orang when i ignore her. LOL.

these two sisters, they can be best friends today, enemies tomorrow. one time while i was walking across the parking lot with the kids, i reached out for Dayana's hand. not wanting to be left out, Dinara reached out her hand too... for Dayana's.

LOL.

(on other days toksah cerita. they are very good at making messes, ignoring me when i ask them to clean up, and love to fight over something the other has just because the other one has it - kalau bende tu duduk atas lantai tak terusik, i can bet you they wouldn't even bother, chis).

April 2, 2012

iPhone mommy tak bes

just wanted to write this down... before i forget...

this morning , at 1am i was trying my very best to get some shut eye when Dayana, who was lying on her stomach next to me and busy operating my iPhone exclaimed,

"Mommy, iPhone Mommy tak bes la!"

@_@ boleh tak? mentang2 la Mommy's apps semua boring to a 4-yo. chis.

and yesterday, Bibik made nasi + fishball soup for lunch, but my Dayana had her own idea on what she wanted to eat for lunch. you know what she did? she took one look at the bowl and told Bibik,

"i don't want rice, i want bihun and fishball"

and when Bibik said bihun takde, you know what she said?

"adeeeee. you go get it!" and then refused to eat a single bite.

haih. cam tau je ade bihun kat dalam stor tu? and pandai pulak si kecik molek ni order orang. haihhhhhhhh.

she also likes to ask me the following Qs:

- KENAPA xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, mommy? KENAPA??? *mode sibuk-nak-tau*
- mommy nak pegi mana? mommy where you going?? *mode takut kene tinggal*
- mommy, what u doing? *mode kepochi*
- mommy can i use your iPhone?
- mommy, can you help me?
- are you thinking what i'm thinking, B1? *encik pisang punye pasal*

semalam sibuk nak makan pizza. luckily we had leftover pizza from Saturday night's pizza dinner outing with Nor, so she had pizza for lunch and dinner on Sunday. and for Monday's breakfast too (last piece).

hantu pizza cik kiah sorang ni.

oh she came up with something else recently:

"daina likes princess, adik likes abby cadaby, mommy like princess (she doesn't know what i like), daddy likes robot! (aka transformers)"

and from school:

"how are you?"
"i'm fine, thank you, ALHAMDULILLAH!"

the middle names

couldn't find the meaning for their first names, though.

on another note, yesterday morning Dayana woke me up as early as 7am and said,

'Mommy adik beyak! smells good!'

T__T

i don't think she knows how to describe the terrible smell emitting from her sister's diaper. wahahaha.

that definitely isn't good O_o.

and last night she came to me and said she was going to sleep with bibik later, and told me not to get angry at her nanti, ok?

she actually remembers earlier that morning i scolded her because she woke up and made too much noise (sibuks nak mintak susu lagi) until her adik woke up too. lol. these two are such early risers @_@.

and now... the kids

- the kids love eating telur rebus you get at weddings. the downside is, they only eat the egg white, and ignore the egg yolk. the other day Dayana ate nothing at the wedding except 5 eggs. Mak Teh had to donate hers to Dayana, apparently our 4 bijik tak cukup. she refused to eat rice @_@. go figure.

- Dinara knows how to say 'nak aiiii' (nak air). she says that each time she wants a drink from our cup.

- the other day Dinara saw Dayana drinking vitagen, she eagerly walked up to her elder sister and said 'nak!'. after waiting expectantly and getting absolutely nothing, she tried reaching out her hand for the vitagen (kedekut benor Dayana hokeh). so instead i brought her to the kitchen to get a new one for her. she had no problem drinking from the tiny straw, but she loves to play with the straw. then tak reti nak cucuk balik straw. if normal big straws she'd take a long sip and dribble the liquid down her front T__T.

- one time Dayana saw me staring at her and she told me, 'Mommy, jangan tenyok!' i was blur at first, until she put out a hand to block my line of vision, while the other hand she sneakily used to korek hidung. wahahhahahahaha. she has now learned how to pronounce 'tengok' properly, because one night she came up to me as i was playing Smurfs on my iPhone and asked, 'mommy, can i tengok your iPhone?'

- as what i mentioned in my previous post, after tiring herself out walking, or just because she doesn't want to anymore, Dinara would just stop and plop herself onto the ground. she thinks it's a free country to just rest anywhere she wants to. haha.

- according to Dayana, she's the Princess, adik dia pulak dia kasi jadi Pirate -____-

- Dayana just found out the existence of Bananas in Pajamas. if before she'd ask for Dora or Alvin on the iPad, this time it's Bananas all the way @_@. if not mistaken, Disney Junior will be showing it soon next month. somehow i am not a Bananas in Pajamas fan!

- Dinara knows 'nak', 'no', but not 'yes' T___T. big fan of Fresh Beat Band, no thanks to her elder sister. bukan main seronot meloncat depan tv whenever the show is on.

more if i can remember later on =)

Dayana likes school

my Dayana is a big girl now.
she doesn't throw a fuss whenever she gets ready for school in the morning.
she takes her breakfast every morning (although after 1 week of coco crunch she started to mogok, errr sape tak boring? lol).
she puts on her shoes, sometimes by herself, sometimes we assist her because she is suchhhhhhhh a siput.
then we get into the car, and off we go to her school.
once we get out of the car, i give her a hug and a kiss.
she doesn't need me to hold her hand.
we walk up to the school gates together, and she waves goodbye.
"goodbye mommy!" she says cheerfully to me.
and in she goes, a teacher would be there awaiting the students at the gate.
she knows she'll be back home a few hours later.
and she goes home with transit.
my little lady has grown =)

sometimes Dinara will insist to follow, poor her, she never gets to go anywhere.
so when Dinara comes too, she'll get a kiss on the face from the elder sister.
and sometimes she asks, "adik nak ikut, ke?" rather excitedly.
not that she cares really, lol.
i just tell her adik is still small, she won't be going to school just yet.

you know how i know she likes school?
i remember the first day i was there, the teachers were singing songs with the kids.
she refused to participate in anything then.
so one evening we were in my room, hanging out.
then out of the blue she started singing... humming. words weren't clear.
but it sounds exactly like the song the teachers sing every day with the kids at school.

she was also really really happy with the new Deuter bag i got for her.
all pink and girly, exactly how she likes her things to be - PINK T__T.
sometimes her milk bottle remains untouched at the end of the day.
we put a bottle in her bag, for one of those cranky days.
a sign that she's too preoccupied at school to even ask for her milk bottle =)
let's hope she doesn't lose any belongings.
else labeling might be in order.

school's rubbing off her. in a good way. amin~.

here's Dayana's first work of art in school =)

and Dinara?

well, she gets to conquer the iPod Touch sorang2 at home while the Kakak's away, hehe.
