midnight summary update

it's 12am, i'm sleepy but i dunno why i'm not asleep yet =P.

- firstly, i thank my ex-colleague for giving me that ray of hope (and plizplizpliz let's hope this doesn't fall through this time round)

- i'm slowly getting the shopping vibe back haha. been wanting to buy something, but something invisible is holding me back (thanks to the enablers and advisors, you know who you are kekeke)

- p/s. i'm loving my slide. tremendously.

- shopping does not include anything for baby #2 yet. nononono. tsk.

- at the company's carboot sale earlier, i bought an overall, a dress and a pair of jeans for Dayana for only rm23 lol (kedekut betul Mommy Dayana ni =P)

- it's night #3 Dayana's down with diarrhea =( i'm assuming it's diarrhea though, accompanied with a mild fever. i'm thankful that's she's still eating and drinking though. improving a little after a trip to the Dr.

- i make a BAD organizer. sigh. anyone wants to pimp my bedroom?

- i have successfully procrastinated mil's birthday present. tsk. i lost mood because i got no idea how to weave in the ends. and the colors connect kinda funny. blergh.

- i have successfully procrastinated so many entries for my blog. i need a new harddisk and my photos are everywhere =(

- ever since i got back from the States, i've religiously been using moisturizer after showering. so far i've finished two bottles of lotion already, haha. my skin doesn't itch as much anymore. now i'm thinking how to lighten up the scars caused by my previously religious scratching -.-

- hey, that's a personal achievement ok. i cukup malas mau moisturize after shower. i think this was actually my 2008 resolution yg sudah basi. ahahhahahaha

- i want to get myself a signature necklace. but i'm not sure what yet.

- i have three things on the way to me. that's for cheering me up a little. yay =) christiane is confirmed to go~

hmm. maybe i should go to sleep now. g'nite!

fs: mothercare rucksack diaper bag - SOLD

SOLD - thanks Lix!

i'm letting go of my Mothercare Rucksack Diaper bag. haven't been using this bag extensively since i prefer messenger bags than backpacks, so the condition looks still close to new.

- the bag is black in color, with the inner layer an orange color

- very stylish and practical

- has lots of zippered compartments with ample space

- has a handy, easy-access wipes pocket- the changing mat that comes with it has two zippered messy bags attached to it to store soiled items or whatever that fancies you

- the bag has an insulated compartment to store bottles

- it even has a side pocket which you really won't notice unless you looked closely, where i keep small personal items in.

the zippers are in working order. but one of the zipper's black tapered end (like you see in the photo) for the side insulated compartment seemed to have MIA so i've attached a paper ring for easier zipping and unzipping.

selling this for rm200. i would prefer COD for this item.

thanks for looking!

if there's such a thing as Thursday's blues

Significant Other left for Penang at 4am. and thanks to him i woke up at 9am and was late for work T_T. i was lucky i didn't have any last minute meetings to attend. i still haven't warmed up yet to my new so-called 'home', and i'm not sure if i ever will. they say if you start off as end user you will be more comfortable in the same environment than if you were to switch to vendor, and vice versa. maybe it's just me and i've had enough of the routinal requirement - design - implement - test - launch project cycle. bah. i remember wasting lots of A4 paper every week during my computer management course printing out Gantt charts berjela-jela just to keep the lecturer happy (we never did follow the chart anyway). it's never ending, this cycle. but 5 years into it makes it a bit hard to break free. unlike in the States it'd be perfectly alright if you decided to have a change of heart halfway. wasting your time, maybe, but at least you get the opportunity to pursue what you really aspire to do.

okay i'm babbling at the moment. i'm still at the office. waiting for 7pmish so that i can meet up with shishi later to hand over her wristlet which i've kept for so long (wayyy too long until the colors are starting to grow on me, each time i take it out to have a look at it, makes me wish i had bought one for myself, tsk). i haven't seen shishi like forever. nadia says her hair looks really nice now. i like shishi's hair during her curly days, made her look older and sophisticated =D. but she prefers short hair though.

accessory that comes with shishi if you buy any one of my Coach bags for sale =P~~~~

let's hope tomorrow's iPhone deal doesn't fall through. i get frustrated when people say they'll think about it but the thing is there isn't much time left to think, and by then it'll be too late.

my shopping disease has started to rekindle again, although i'm still at the stage where i can still stop to think whether i really need it or not before simply clicking the Send Funds button. things that have passed through my mind include a new bag, a snuggle nest, red waves, melkaj, hotslings, and perhaps APLX? (no thanks to someone who started asking me questions about SSC, haha). so... i haven't purchased anything yet, whee~ (although it's really tempting whenever i hear someone had recently purchased something online or anywhere else, i pulak terlebih excited haha). my brain is still hardwired to the expenses incurred during my Houston trip, and i go :O :O eash time i think about it.

i just got a call from Significant Other, he's complaining that TuneHotel's room is crazily tiny. haha. what do you expect, from a budget hotel like that? does anyone know a good place to rent in Penang for a month's duration? apartments and suites are ridiculously expensive to stay for one month even if they do give you discounts for long stays, so the only other option is to rent or sleep at the mosque, and i'm not a native islander to know these things. if you do know of a suitable place to rent, please let me know. any suggestion is appreciated =).

ok it's getting late so i'm off to meet shishi. to be frank tomorrow doesn't even feel like a Friday.

jumpsacbaby Bali!

i can't get this out of my head now. me wants one!!!
does this mean i have to go to Bali? =D =D =D
get one of your own at Jumpsac!

ok ok enough with my cravings. i've been craving for The Ship's spaghetti & spinach but apparently Significant Other didn't get the hint *hmph*. so better i satisfy my other cravings of a different kind =P. me is suddenly thinking of getting another hotsling. and a diaper bag. and goodness knows what else.

i've slimmed my wrap stash down to 5. yay!
i wore Dayana to Tesco with my CJ the other day and i'm thinking i'm going to hold on to it for a little longer. silk is supportive! just the abit too long tail bothers me a bit.

things i've been eating alot of lately:
- magnum almond. i suddenly have cravings for vanilla. nyum nyum.
- chilli sauce. suddenly tomato sauce just don't cut it anymore

my weight hasn't increased at all much. tsk. and i'm already heading into my 20th week. one look at me and you think i'm lying about my pregnancy. until now i can still fit into my jeans. haha.

i guess she didn't really enjoy the experience. hahaha.

into thin air

you uregently need to hand in a letter.
it's 10'oclock and the place is closed for the night.
the ground floor pigeonhole is unlocked, and if you peer inside you can see a whole bunch of ignored mail.
you decide against leaving it at security for fear of being misplaced.
you push the lift button for the floor that the letter is initially addressed to, only to find the main doors securely locked.
you then head to the floor that houses the company's mailing room.
you enter the main doors and head towards the mailing room.
unfortunately you find the door locked up tight.
so you decide to slip the letter under the doorway.

you think, since the door is securely locked, it'll be safe for the night, right? and in the morning the first person to open the door will be bound to find the envelope on the floor and hand it to the addressed person, correct?

oddly enough, the letter never reached the intended recipient, even after 2 days. you would think that the envelope decided to sprout legs all by itself and make a run for it. i find it hard to believe that an envelope can just disappear into thin air, especially in the mailing room, a room dedicated to handle mass amounts of mail. i mean, where else can an envelope hide itself? how can a big A4-sized envelope disappear into thin air???

seriously.

knits n stitches

i finished my first knitting project yesterday!!! ever since i first started it in February, haha. i think i did a lot of tinkering as much as i knitted because i have yet to learn how to pick up dropped stitches (i can't even identify the problem, kept staring and staring until got cross-eyed). Dayana decided while i was teaching myself how to bind off the project to purposely yank my project away from me, resulting in more dropped stitches and me literally crying because i was so close to finishing T_T. but anyway, i finally finished it, yay!

(photo of my dishcloth)

i used up 5 balls of yarn for this kononnye mini blankie for my daughter. i knitted the whole thing using the garter stitch (the only stitch they taught me at Lily Handicraft that time). once i finished, i handed the blankie to Dayana, and you know what she did? she sniffed it, and immediately chucked it away and said 'suk' (busuk). yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...!

perhaps i should've washed it first or something.

there's a few things i could say for my first 'work of art':
- i am still clueless as how to weave in the loose ends. i think i have about 7 loose ends dangling about. in the book it mentioned about untying the knots first before weaving the ends in. i'm thinking, what if the whole project decides to unravel on its own? :O i cannot imagine weaving in the ends to make it look like it isn't there in the first place.
- the color combination sucks literally. at first the entertwining of blue + yellow seem to give a nice soft buttery effect. but then i realized the yellow had occasional red and black strands weaved into it, so the whole combo reminded Significant Other of a dishcloth T_T. but i can't turn it into the discloth because that would mean i had just made the most expensive amateur dishcloth ever :O
- the store gave me the second ball of yarn in the wrong shade. if you scrutinize closely at one end is blue + yellow, the other is green + yellow. the latter combination makes it look abit sickening in my opinion, further adding on to its 'dishclothness'. sigh. furthermore i used 1 ball of blue, 2 balls of green, so the color is definitely unevenly distributed.
- the blankie seems a bit on the small side. i wouldn't mind knitting it to make it longer / bigger, but i don't think the price per ball of yarn would be worht it (at this rate i should've bought one of those yummy baby blankets at Babies R Us and that might've costed less than my project, haha). probably the size is just nice for a newborn, and would make a nice security size blanket for a toddler, i dunno (i'm simply justifying the size to myself =P). but at least it's smaller than the Bumblebee blanket that Dayana loves to drag around the house. i tried to Clorox her blanket back to whiteness but failed miserably.
- my needle kept getting stuck between the thread strands, so in some places the yarn had already started to bulu-bulu. can't do much about it, so oh well.
- my mom said the material i used made the blanket heavy. i think so too.

i'm starting on my second project, this one not for me. mil's birthday is today, so with the guide of a knitting book i bought in Houston, i thought i'd knit her a scarf since she'll be going to UK for a while, so a scarf might come in handy, don't u think? (or not). for most of her birthdays we'd give her perfume since she loves perfume and you can never go wrong giving her that. not sure how soon i'll be able to give her her gift, depends on how soon i'll be able to finish it. lol.

i learnt how to bind off using the book, and for this project i'm teaching myself how to cast on and do the rib stitch. at first it looked horrible (to me, at least) but after knitting a few rows, my second project actually began to resemble something in the book, hahahahhaha. my only problem is how to switch to another color of yarn when the time comes. doesn't say exactly how in the book. in other words, there's no colorful illustration to help me out. kekekeke. i found out i'm a visual learner at this rate.

so here's my short attempt last night before i went to bed:

me likey. but i dunno how to connect different colors! =(

we went to the SONY Expo fair at Midvalley as soon as the F1 race ended yesterday on TV. we didn't go to see F1 live this year. anyway, Dayana seemed to have fun, she got two ballons. the Mommy had to participate in collecting chops and mini games (which incorporated various Sony products) to win ticket stubs so that the Daddy could get vouchers to buy his memory card.

we went to buy one item in mind, ended up with him buying a whole lot of other things NOT in his mind. cheese. and Dayana got a bruised lip for falling down while attempting to run away from me T_T.

Dayana & Daddy

Dayana & Mommy

today i went to see my Gynae. i was supposed to see her last Saturday but the waiting list was bloody long so i took a gamble and rescheduled for Monday morning. and even today the crowd was equally huge, despite being a weekday. i think i spent almost 2 hours at DEMC for a 15-minute appointment? sigh. oh my results came back ok, yay. we still have no idea what the gender is though. Significant Other has started to daydream over the possible names to give the baby. haiz.

congratulations to first-time-Mommy Dina for her delivery yesterday! i know just how much she'd been looking forward for this day, lol. have a very happy confinement, dear =D

babywearing hiatus

i realized lately that i rarely babywear anymore. my 'wearee' has decided on her own that she's too big to be carried around by her mommy and prefer to don her lighted-up sneakers and prance around the house in it T_T. heck she's more interested in shoes these days. she'd go through Ashu and her grandma's shoe collection every time she stays at my parent's place. according to my mom, kecik2 sudah tere pakai terompah ok (my mom's toilet slippers). sometimes she even demands to trade shoes with her just so that she gets to wear my crocs T_T (lepas tu mommy nak pakai kasut apa???).

i rarely stalk tbw these days too, despite the exchange rate dropping at the moment (good time to buy?). it's either because the new baby hormones is still in effect (emiza has gotten the bug too, i rarely see her around online these days) or because i don't have anyone to wear. lol. i guess it's a good thing. i save money in the process (my aim: to cut another credit card into pieces!!!). but i simply haven't come across anything i like. oh i still have a teeny wishlist though =P but i haven't lost sleep over it, so i guess that's ok for now (although i totally love far's silk rs stash and i'd keep wishing to come across a silk eesti rs but so far no avail).

i kept hoarding wraps at first. biasela me, collector by nature =P or you could say rambang mata and tak ingat dunia when you get your hands on a mouse and start clicking away. my first actual utilization of a wrap was during my Singapore trip. oh you have got to love silk indios. if you're on a tight budget, a silky is the way to go (in my opinion lah). adjusting and readjusting the rings of my rs in a hurry was starting to feel like a hassle that time. and found out that that was the only wrap i should've owned. so i let go of some of the ones in my closet =P (btw, i have a cgw for sale. anyone interested?).

i'm not into SSCs because i prefer trying it out first before buying. you know how small mamas have trouble buying outfits that fit you well, be it dresses or lingerie (lol). you can imagine how stressed i was when i saw this lovely 4th Gen Pink Paisley Beco on Espresso straps on tbw one time, i love love the print but i've tried a 4th Gen irl and we just didn't click =(. o&a is out of the question too (for petite mamas so they say, i have yet to try though haha). but i actually do own one SSC, because i love love the print and because farrah had an excellent review on it and i trust her reviews =D. but i have yet to use it. hahahah. saiko tak. baik tak payah beli kan? oh well. until now i haven't bought syaz's Orbit, despite loving its perfect fit. perhaps in the near future when there are more patterns to choose from. i'm hoping for a pink paisley lookalike! lol.

i haven't been too noisy on mbw too. i just dunno what to nyampuk these days. more and more new members are joining in. i guess they're the ones taking over the hype now. it's fun to read up on how crazy one can get over carriers. reminds me of ME when i first ventured into babywearing. point to remember: never say that you'd never try something, because those words will end up being total rubbish. kekekeke.

so, like elly, am i temporary done with bbwearing? (your entry inspired me to muse on what i should do with all the carriers that i have, since they're strewn all over. keep? sell?)

i wonder what i'll go nuts about once baby #2 arrives. i guess this baby will receive most hand-me-downs from Dayana - toys, beddings, feeding utensils, clothing - depending on the gender, everything lah. hehe. for mommies with >1 child, what stuff did you buy for the next baby? what stuff did u reuse?

i better go to sleep now. tomorrow got to pick up my car. i spent a bomb for its major service. and i haven't even renewed my road tax yet. grrrr. this is the last time i service my car at its origin center. and i also have a Dr's appointment to go to. wish me luck...
