freebies from Sephora

did any of you Sephora Black Card holders get this mailer?
it was sent during the raya holidays.
most of everybody was away for the holidays.
so...
chances to grab one was indeed high.
hahahahhaha.

so during lunch hour i went downstairs to try my luck.
they were still available! squee~~~

the best part was, i didn't have to spend anything to get this!
usually you'd need to spend a minimum amount of something before they throw in a free gift for you, yeah?
this one: no need. =D happy!

although... i did wish they added some description of what they were giving away for free.
i have yet to figure out how to use the Infuser and Luminizing Surge, lolz.

p/s. this promotion is only available at  Sephora KLCC, Starhill, Paradigm Mall & Midvalley only

my favorite kinda lush

it's 4 in the morning and as usual whenever Significant Other has an early morning flight, i'm his secondary alarm clock.

my random rant/rave of the day is how much i like the effect of Lush's Jason & the Argan Oil bar shampoo on my hair: insta-awesome i tell you. i've only just finished my Godiva bar which i bought in September 2013 (yep, that's how long it lasted me) and i officiated the new bar two days ago.

meet Jason, my hair's latest squeeze
On a quest for stronger, shinier, softer hair? Try this argan oil-packed, Rose Jam-scented bar. Argan oil is combined with glycerine to give your hair touchable softness and lustrous shine. From this solid foundation restorative rose absolute and oil balances the scalp making this bar particularly perfect for setting fair hair ablaze with brightness and strength.

new shampoo bars!

they haven't released the new shampoo bars when i was in Prague so i tumpang my friend's order from the UK when they were released in mid-December last year. Jason smells exactly like Rose Jam, and during that time i was so into roses and was specially tempted by its argan oil content. usually i'd have to wait a couple of days for my hair's natural oils to kick back in (i hate the feel of squeaky clean hair) but my hair felt super soft immediately after using Jason. seriously, tak tipu. hair conditioner below included, of course.

usual hair regime (old photo): bar shampoo + conditioner

unfortunately now i get a headache whenever i leave the shampoo bar container open; the scent of Rose Jam can be overwhelming haha.

the other shampoo bar i was tempted to try was Honey I Washed My Hair, mainly because it's toffee-scented very similar to Honey I Washed the Kids shower gel. but since i was pregnant at the time i wasn't too fond of its caramel-ish scent. i wasn't too fond of Snow Fairy either (and yet friends were telling me how awesome it was lol). i noticed pregnancy can really affect your olfactory preferences, before and after. maybe i should try HIWMH next once my Jason finishes (which might probably be one year from now at the rate my shampoo bar shrinks =P~) now that my nose is back to normal.

Ro's Argan Body Conditioner also smells of Rose Jam. did i ever tell you that i absolutely love this skin conditioner? it substitutes moisturizing after showering, only that you rinse it off afterwards, leaving your skin feeling moisturized. however i wouldn't recommend this if you're the type of person that prefers to come out of the bathroom feeling squeaky clean. Significant Other once commented that my skin felt different (as in 'not as dry as before' *cough*) so i guess the product is making a bit of a difference on me, eh? *mode sedikit perasan*

This is chock-a-block with delicious butters and oils to leave your skin looking plumped up, gorgeous, and smelling of roses. Take this into the shower or bath, massage over wet skin and rinse off just as you would a hair conditioner. We've used deeply nourishing argan oil, which is thought to have anti-ageing properties as it's rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, and added brazil nut and almond oils as well as cocoa, shea and cupuaƧu butters to leave your skin supple and radiant.

Ro's Argan BC, another favorite of mine

two other Lush body products i got to try are Dreamwash shower smoothie and Rub Rub Rub shower scrub.

shower cream and shower scrub

everyone's familiar with Dreamwash, right?

A soft and gentle shower wash that’s packed with the best ingredients to soothe and cool sore or sensitive skin. Scoop this out with your hand and use as you would a shower gel. Its soft blend of soap, soothing aloe vera gel and calamine gel will leave you feeling cool, calm, and perfected. Tea tree oil is antiseptic and antibacterial, while rose absolute calms redness.

i was sold on the 'to soothe and cool sore or sensitive skin', especially since i have very bad bouts of eczema. the nice scent was an added bonus. the texture reminds me of clay, which washes off easily and leaves your body surprisingly squeaky clean (which i normally relate with bubbles, of which this product has none). you can pair this product with Dream Cream but i'm not much of a fan of cream products (hence me using Ro's Argan BC with hopes of eliminating cream/lotion from my daily routine! =P).

Rose Jam was a limited edition shower gel so naturally i had to get one for myself =P. i ended up getting a bunch more for friends and family. i would've bought more Snow Fairy as well, but they were out of the smallest size bottle =(. the following two products were my first purchase at the Lush Store in Prague. haha! i felt like a little kid in a Toy Store. semua mau.

Dream Cream and Rose Jam

and here's Rub Rub Rub. a girl's gotta exfoliate too, right?

An exfoliating shower scrub that can also be used to wash, volumise and add shine to hair. Packed with mineral-rich sea salt, Rub Rub Rub can be used as a gentle scrub on wet skin, or on dry skin for a really good buff before you get in the shower. Sea salt, a natural antiseptic as well as exfoliant, is combined with lots of lemon juice to leave your skin feeling rejuvenated and it also adds shine and volume to hair.

i use this scrub directly onto dry skin because i like the feel/idea of buffering off all the dirt and dead skin cells from my skin (sort of like sandpapering myself haha!). i've never tried it on my hair before, since i've got my shampoo bar for that. or is the description talking about body hair? bahahahahahahah. anyway, the scent reminds me of clothes detergent, i'm not sure why. to me this product is so-so, once this finishes i'm gonna see if Lush has any other body scrubs i could try.

what's in Rub Rub Rub

on facial cleansers, i've always been an Olay user and wouldn't look anywhere else, but when one of my friends ordered Angels on Bare Skin, i just haaaaad to kepochi as well T__T. lol. i think this was the only facial cleanser that's suitable with my skin (if there are any others, please don't let me know, i don't wanna know). i like its lavender smell!

Inspired by a medieval recipe and topped off with lavender flowers, this contains kaolin to absorb grease and dirt, leaving skin clean and nourished. Lavender oil and rose absolute calm the skin. As you mix your solid cleanser with water to form a paste, the ground almonds create almond milk which helps to tone and brighten the skin. This can be used all over your body as well as your face.

unfortunately for me, they were out of the smallest tub, so they recommended me Buche De Noel, a Christmas limited edition almost similar to AOBS, minus the lavender smell. instead it has its own smell that reminds me of Christmas and nuts. HAHA. note that these two make good cleansers, but not as makeup removers.

AOBS on the left, Buche De Noel on the right

got a bathtub at home? The Comforter has got to be my most favorite bubble bar ever. i love this even more than bath bombs. to me, bath bombs provide the oils, bubble bar provides - what else - bubbles! the bubble bar is so big you can use it up to four times if you're Miss Kemut like me. it smells nice too! and it's pink.

The Comforter

due to Lush products being freshly made, i really recommend that you finish all  Lush products within the specific time period as mentioned on the packaging, unless they're self preserving. else you should store your products in a fridge to extend their shelf life if you don't want your unused/half-used product to spoil, like how my Buche De Noel cleanser did =(. i was only halfway done with that tub when it went all moldy on me. oh well. my AOBS is now safely stored away in my fridge, lol.

spoilt for choice

i'm bored. let's talk fashion, shall we? (although, i might be the wrong person to talk about this topic. i have no sense of color coordination and i tend to be so fickle-minded).

i realize that i prefer to see and feel the merchandise in real life rather than randomly purchasing online and hoping for the best.

for one, you won't get yourself fooled by those pretty drop dead gorgeous models who wear them in photos and make them look so amazing, that you get overexcited so you immediately press the 'Add to Cart' button but end up being totally disappointed when you receive it in the mail because it doesn't make you look as thin as you thought it would be or that the material was not cut out as you hoped it would be.

haha. sarcastic, i know. but it's the truth. some people are meant to look pretty even while wearing a burlap sack, others have to try abit harder to shine. i'm part of the latter. i don't wake up in the morning looking like a hundred bucks. sometimes what looks good on on person may not necessarily look good on another. anyway models are meant to look good in anything they wear, if not how the heck are they gonna get their stuff to sell? and for all i know, they used photo enhancing apps like vscocam or 360 to make them look like human angels on earth. LOL.

i still hate them for looking effortlessly beautiful though. haha. i guess i should start unfollowing those instagram accounts now =P.

haters be haters,
players be players,
fakers be fakers,
bakers be bakers,
shake it off, shake it off,
woo hoo hoo.

anyway, i received the brochure for Scha X FV in the mail even before the collection was released. from the brochure, i'm not really a fan of her style but i have to admit, her collection are quite affordable if you compare her designs to some other brands that cost a lot more but didn't quite tickle my fancy material-wise. i wish her collection was physically available; vivy looks perfect in almost anything so i can't rely on her photos to make purchasing decisions haha. i often wonder if some of the more famous-er bloggers secretly get paid to review new collections.

i'm delighted that Scha X FV's collection are available in my sizing, just like Nora Danish for FV's collection is (although i have to say, i could barely move in her A-line skirt and Gary in the office actually noticed that i had trouble walking in it bahahah). some designers' interpretation of S size are overly underrated so i'm usually 'saved by default' from taking the plunge *roll eyes*.

heck, most of the designs were sold out fairly quick. i'm undecided as to which color i like best for the following design, what do you think?

Thentill in Grey
Thentill in Peach

last week i followed my friends to MAC. while the other two was busy dolling themselves up with eyeliners, i was busy taking a selfie:

#duckscarves #blueeclairs

i usually don't take selfies but i'm gonna pop soon and it's not always i see myself this fat, haha. i'm weighing about 53-54kg now at 37 weeks. anyway i discovered that MAC has a lip primer to prep your lips before wearing lippies. i find MAC lippies to be very dry and i always tend to steer towards matte lipsticks so with the combination of my super dry lips, it's like a disaster waiting to happen. this is definitely going into my wishlist one day.

MAC prep + prime

T - 18 days to go. the pilot is kepala pusing because his schedule is packed for May. and i baru plan nak coax the baby to come out on XX May because i'd have an easier time recalling the first 8 digits of the IC number hahhahahahhahah.

more raya goodness

how has fasting been treating uolls?

are you in raya shopping mode yet? fashionvalet has been churning out new designer works week by week, i've lost count already. i think if you started out planning to get only 1 or 2 outfits for raya this year, you'd actually end up getting 3, or 4 or even 5 if you're not careful. HAHA!

so here is me, stalking 'stuff' on instagram. have you seen nora danish's raya collaboration with fashionvalet? monochrome seems to be the in thing for her. i was skeptical when fv labelled her collection as affordable (you should see the prices listed for some of the other collections, i cry just looking at them!) but once they were released, at rm199 they are affordable. let's hope they don't disappoint. there's 8 designs to choose from. i like the second from left outfit in the top row.

nora danish for fv

apparently this Kate Dress is also something to drool about, a collaboration between Ashh&Annas and designer Mazlianul Maznan. it's the first time i've heard of them. this dress has pretty detailing on its sleeves, and the bodice sports a chiffon cape that may or may not tickle your fancy. however this outfit is not breastfeeding friendly. did i mention that they come available in XS size? i'm sooo in for designers that take time to create sizes for tiny-challenged people like me. i still remember those Jovian crazed days, when i bought an outfit XS size but it still came off as too big for me, so i sold it off to another crazed fan, bahahaha. is this outfit inspired from Kate Middleton?

anyway, the Kate Dress is available in 6 colors, all of which i hear are already sold out. BOO. i hope they restock, i think many fans were not able to get their hands on a pair, including yours truly.

the kate dress

btw, this nurita harith outfit is rubbing off on me, but i don't think i can pull off such an outfit. i think i love the pastel colors mainly (i'm a huge pastel fan).

nurita harith on fv

oh speaking of raya outfits, i just had to post this photo from ladorn_kl:

look familiar?

Aurora top Kaftan in Pink Orange
Let It Go Skirt 2.0 in Fuschia
both from L'adorn

i initially dropped by to browse through Kree else but ended up deviating from my original objective T__T.  the younger sister didn't want to oblige for a photo; for some reason she was in a cranky mode and refused to don the skirt, despite me threatening her in various ways. oh well.

Ladorn and Kree were having a pre-raya sale the day i dropped by and i think they'll be appearing at this weekend's Karnival Teratak Glam Raya at the Shah Alam stadium. lotsa celebrities will be there as well (Lisa Surihani is, i follow her instagram hahahaha). i reckon the crowd will be crazy, so for my safety i'm gonna stay away.

(p/s. Kiss & Tell should really design shoes that are abit lower in height, i love the print, but their heel height can be back-breaking T_T).

there's so many sellers on instagram these days, selling every single possible thing you could think of. i came across this seller on ig. these blouses were selling really cheap so i got a couple. it didn't disappoint; loved the feel of the blouse material! sometimes online shopping blows because you don't get to try before you buy, so when decide to purchase something and it arrives at your doorstep, it's really upsetting to find that it's a tad too small or wayyyyyyy too big, phooey. or you find that the material sucks for the price that you've paid, as another example.

if you know nuts about fashion, or aren't a fashionista yourself, i recommend purchasing stuff based on reviews. but don't get swept up in the hype, just because someone purchases a truckload doesn't mean you have to as well, set your own pace and be happy =D.

'mng' off shoulder top, very happy colors

to end my shopping post of the day, here's a photo of my very happy minion. recently she perfected the skill of raising her hand. she raises her hand whenever i ask, 'siapa nama Sophia, raise your hand!'. gosh, she looks like a boy in this photo. ish.

the other two raising their hands

in bibik's point of view, each time the maid buat tangan penumbuk kasi tunjuk Pia, she'd raise her hand also, minus the clenched fist, hahahhahahahha.

shopping raya

so... everyone dah shopping raya? i know everyone's busy covering puasa at this time =D. i haven't done a shopping post in aeons!

most of the designers have gone smart and offer pre-orders and RTW for people to choose from. i'd usually steer away from RTW because i can't even fit into XS size. not point buying only to have to alter it later. but you can drool over the designs, yes?

nurita harith's luxe collections are pretty. abit steep on price (but there are other designers more steeper than this T__T), but otherwise simply gorgeous. the following three are my favorite:

nurita harith

jubah is an in thing now these days too it seems. they're swishy, they're versatile, and lately they're breastfeeding friendly too. sleeves have zippers for easy ablution access. bella ammara was just released recently in fashionvalet, the tiara jubah seemed to have sold out in a flash. sigh. comes in many colors! doesn't help that felixia yeap is the one modelling them (ish, she's so gorgeous). these three colors look lovely:

bella ammara

sometimes if you notice on fb there's these 'suggested posts' on your timeline, which are annoying because they're actually trying to tempt you into buying stuff you really don't need at that point of time. well anyway, i saw the image below and clicked on the mouse like i was possessed. haha.

frankly, i've never even heard of the webpage, let alone the brand. but the dw by Daphne Iking collection kinda caught my eye, mainly because the sleeves are made from lace *love*. comes in 4 colors. can i have them all? *swoon* #crazyladyinthemaking

dw by Daphne Iking

this is another bandwagon i lambat join, but i kinda got the Onulaa bug recently. crazy, especially for someone not donning the hijab yet - but i always say keep one or two for a rainy day =P. i knew the brand from long ago, my cousin Noreen bought the kids flower headbands made by Onulaa.

flowery headband! this is Dinara, aeons ago

they were giving a small discount last week so i grabbed Mashi along for the ride. i actually wanted to get a couple of hijabs for the girls, which i did. ta-da!

tak senonoh nampak lengan, bahahahah

have you checked out their glittering shawls? there were so many colors. SO MANY!!! if i wore hijab fulltime, i'd grab 10. or maybe 15. bahahahahah. their two-tone shawls are gorgeous! shehnaz is so pretty *love*. here's some of the colors that i like.

and a few photos of us tengah meroyan:

maysaa shawl, also by Onulaa

pucker my lippie

D recommended me her favorite nyx soft matte lip cream (smlc) in Istanbul. "a must have color", she says.

oh you know me, asal promote je, you get caught up 'in the moment', like so many people i know. seriously one day someone will be promoting dog poo and even then everyone would get drawn up in the 'hype' despite the mess. hahahahah.

my husband pun dua kali lima. between the both of us, we somehow got convinced to purchase a seven thousand vacuum cleaner, crazy u think? best purchase ever, despite the crazy price. we still use it to this very day.

well anyway, the other day Mashi went on a shopping spree at Paradigm so i got her to get me one of those smlcs sold only at Sephora (which are usually sold out due to its popularity, i hear) (mv y u no have Sephora???). another option to own one of these lippies would be to buy online, alot of people these days pre-order them overseas and sell them here.

sorry lah, i just joined the bandwagon. never heard of this brand before, sorry hahaha.

you can just google them nyx lippies, there's tons of reviews for every possible existing shade, so i'm just sharing with you what i think of this lippie, for someone who has really dry and chapped lips.

mashi bought Istanbul for me, the very same shade D was gushing about. despite coming in so many colors, the store only carried three shades. pfffft.

(the thing with these imported brands is, stock availability is always uncertain so everyone opts to buy them overseas instead).

my take on them (after only owning this lippie for less than a week haha):

- the lippie had a pleasant smell, reminds me alot of red velvet cupcakes hahaha,
- the lippie dries down into a soft matte finish, which may be a bit drying for the lips. someone says it wouldn't do to apply lip balm first, but i'd apply lip balm afterwards and reapply accordingly,
- doesn't wipe off as easily as other lippies, so the color lasts longer on your lips,
- it's rm26 per lippie at Sephora, got some online stores that charges you as much as rm38 T__T but my friend recommended me this nice online store that charges rm26 only, just pay for postage =D.

i even managed to corrupt my colleagues into getting a couple of lippies as well bahahhahahahha. i don't think i'd ever get to own every single shade in the smlc range. a friend said that you should at least own a red, a pink and a neutral, so i got myself reddish Amsterdam to add on to my pinky Istanbul.

my friend Z kagum gila with my enthusiasm, hahaha. she already had Ibiza (which i didn't know she had), so she added on Monte Carlo (another lovely shade of red) and Stockholm (as nude as it can get with a hint of pink). my deskmate N got herself Stockholm (which she loves to bits hahahah rosaklah deskmate aku), and another two colleagues bought Istanbul and Antwerp. we got to split shipping! hahahahahah.

i tried to get my chat friends' opinion on which color would suit me well so i created the below collage for them to decide.

ok so i guess the Antwerp shade looks as if i took a crayon and scribbled on my lips hahahahaha. that color imo would suit fairer skin. but i love Amsterdam! when i first got it i was dismayed to see it so red, but i wore it in the office and a bunch of people said to me, "eh you wearing makeup today?" T____T

Istanbul pun pretty. it's a very soft shade of fink. Stockholm is for those who wants a subtle shade to wear (Z who loves bolder color statements for a lippie would say, "macam tak pakai apa, baik tak yah pakai hahahah").

D tells me, "you should start wearing makeup la".
ok finnnnne. please recommend me stuff. and thennn maybe i won't get that line of 'you don't look your age'. hahahhahahha.

ok i'm off to pick up the husband. ttyl.

pah's starter

i just love ogling over these... even though they aren't mine.
LOL LOL
(seriously, they're not mine. helped to buy for a friend. heck i don't even own openworks yet
HAHA)

cantik kan? for a starter? =D

these people are very clever. only selected trays are actually on sale, yet customers end up buying like no tomorrow, clearance or no clearance. incredible tactic HAHAHA.

anyone wants me to get them anything at mv? *tabur racun*

when the clock strikes midnight,
i'd be accustomed to the usual 'by the way...' wish.
but the next thing that came after... was a total surprise. the kind that makes you want to break down and cry because you never expected it.

'the' makeup remover

my outlook has been having some sort of problem, it keeps restarting itself each time i click on something in outlook. had my pc sent over to IT, but they don't seem to know what's wrong with it either.

so in the meantime lemme show you my new makeup remover assistant.

it works wonders, you. simply double cleansing or triple cleansing with my normal Olay foaming wash doesn't work. for tougher areas (read: the eyes) i'd use a cotton swab and baby oil, but that would only leave my face feeling oily. i tried nano white clarifying cleansing milk, but i felt like my face still had a layer of makeup even after all that washing and scrubbing. i also found an old bottle of Maybelline makeup remover for eye and lip in one of my cabinet drawers (gosh i seem to have alot of junk accumulated in there T_T), but i didn't like how my skin felt after using it. i have another makeup remover i bought from Elianto too, but i don't have any reviews for it simply because i actually forgot i had it. bahahahhahah.

ok so reet tells me that she swears by Bobbi Brown's cleansing oil (the one with the pump mechanism), which also doubles as a makeup remover. Bobbi Brown's not a new brand to me, i've tried out their compact foundation and pressed powder many years ago. i've tried stalking the counter with hopes that they'd produce one in a smaller bottle one day because i couldn't see myself finishing one bottle before the expiry date - no dice. so one day Significant Other decided to get it for me, yay! however by now its price had increased by rm10, tsk. mind you i'm not much of a makeup junkie so whatever beauty product i use/try is either within a certain price range or by recommendation.

(oh adrin i bought that Soap & Glory scrub you recommended =P too bad it's currently on a boat somewhere heading towards Malaysia haha).

i thought i'd end up with an oily face after using the cleansing oil (dah nama 'oil') but boy i was wrong. the salesgirl told me to massage 3-5 pumps of the oil onto my palm and rub it all over my dry face, then only add water and massage gently before rinsing. don't expect it to be foamy, it was kinda like spreading oil over your face, haha. i had doubts about this until i washed my face clean. oh my no trace of oil on my face. even the thickest layer of my foundation was washed away. sukaaaaaaa! my face felt so clean *jakun sementara*. you can use this product as a daily facial wash (although i'd think twice about that each time i remember how much it costs).

it did mention that it might not work as well with waterproof makeup, but i haven't tried to prove that statement yet since all my mascaras have dried out.

so what's your favorite makeup remover? =D.

cellumination - day 1

this entry is to record my day #1 of trying this hi-end product out.
worn twice a day before moisturizer.

according to their website,
"improve your skin from the cellular level and experience highly defined, aura-bright skin in just 4 weeks*"

so... we'll wait 4 weeks to see, eh?
thanks Significant Other for the sponsorship =D

gorgeous innai

photo source: Innai Red's FB page
gorgeous. simply gorgeous. where were you when i got married, beautiful? (the dress i mean, i have not idea who the model is. eeep).

before this the designs were really limited. if it wasn't lace, it would be kain songket. or whatever traditional outfit from whatever state you come from.

now? spoilt for choice. wish there were more multi-purpose designs though.
i wouldn't wear this to a wedding either; i might get throttled by the bride HAHAHAHA.

maybe i can convince my daughter to design her future wedding dress like this (mode berangan lolz).

okok i'm heading home to update more meaningful entries in my blog later. someone complained they were out of reading material.

babai.

February 25, 2013

jelly rival

i wouldn't call it rival per se... their price range actually rivals crocs come to think of it...
(i balked at the price)
but their designs are so much more stylish imo.

*mode berangan on Monday because i couldn't get any sleep last night and my leg is still throbbing and no matter how much rest i get it simply won't just go away and i'm starting to lose sleep because i can't seem to find a comfortable sleeping position anymore even though it's only just 28 weeks and i keep rubbing my eyeballs out even though i know i shouldn't and i've got so many things to do but so little time aaaaarrrrggghhh*

sekian, terima kasih.

heels...
or wedges?

Significant Other is into heels, especially when heels make me a wee bit taller than him (and that would mean i might probably trip and break my back... i dunno how you girls do it, walk in stilts... my back aches just thinking about it). i've abandoned heels for the kids, most of my shoes have been neglected, huhu (and i hate how they deteriorate over time).

p/s. lits... takmo beli ke? =D~~~

on another note...

can i transform my Mr. P from this...

 to this?
