vicksified

Dinara was up to something last night. she's been getting good at opening screwed caps on her own, and this was her recent victim.

i didn't realize what was going on at first. heck, it was 2am ok, orang nak tdo, dia pulak nak explore bilik sorang2, main princess figurines on her own. so ok la. skali Dayana woke up and groggily started pointing to the tv area, as if she was annoyed with something. the tv was on btw. ingatkan ape la yang dia nak pagi2 buta, tunjuk lego takmo, tunjuk buku takmo, tunjuk princess crown pun takmo. nak tukar channel ke?

until i saw it.

a piece of paper stuck onto the tv screen. which looked like box tape to me, at first glance.

upon closer inspection i saw that it was just ordinary notebook paper, and that the paper was held to the screen... by VICKS.

i turned to Dinara and literally caught her red-handed, with my newly bought Vicks tub. with her hair looking all greasy. and her hands and face covered with Vicks.

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHH.

dulu Dayana painted my room with my compact powder, now Dinara wants to continue the legacy by painting the room with Vicks?? did she think it was hair gel????

(last weekend, she got hold of her powder puff and started dusting the whole room white - the bed, the floors, the iPad included @_@).

it didn't help that Dayana told me her princess figurines were all smeared with Vicks too. i guess that was what made that gigantic hole in my Vicks tub - the princess were being executed. mode of choice? death by Vicks T___T Ariel the Mermaid had it the worst. the legos were not spared too. i had a heck of a time trying to wipe the tv clean and degrease the toys in the wee hours of the morning *cry*.

didn't bother getting the grease out of her hair, i simply worked a comb through it, wiped the grease from her hands and face, and forced put her to bed. she didn't seem the least bit frazzled by all of it. chis. in fact, i don't think she understands that what she did was wrong @_@. this little one makin besar makin nakal, huwarggghhh tensi mak.

no photos because it was too dark to get any, and i didn't want them to lose their sleep momentum by turning on the lights.

*mau pull my hair out*

something to share

somebody decided to be cheeky and post this on FB.

out of the blue i bought a cheapskate upt test and had a go (i've never splurged on sticks before. if i bought clear blu, then i'd have to frame it). i took the test a few weeks back, it came back -ve. this time however, i got a different result.

Significant Other left his wallet when he left for Langkawi so i had to courier it to him. ok so this time i decided to be creative. i thought why not let him see for himself instead of me telling him? i don't really remember how i broke the news to him during my last two pregnancies, i only remember him diligently asking me 'dah P belum?'. real cocky of him, see.

when the parcel arrived the next day, he only commented on how he got his wallet and how prettily wrapped the box was (i recycled a gift box, complete with its original wrapping paper). told him to check the box again, there was something else in there. he almost threw away the whole box -___-

i should have remembered to mail the instruction leaflet with the test.

and so he asked, 'so what does this mean?'. i don't know whether he was feigning total blankness for the fun of it or that he really didn't know (forgot that only females know this test the best). his friends on FB had a field day.

no wonder my rumet messaged me out of the blue. cheh.

the best part was, he told me, 'do you know the worse thing? i actually touched it with my bare hands!!!'. oops. LOL.

i didn't think he'd post on FB so soon @_@. it's still too early, and you know how i feel about jinxes *touch wood*. i wonder if he's more excited than me.

the only symptom at the moment = metallic taste in mouth.

so here's looking forward to everything that comes with the word that starts with the letter 'P'.

p/s. some people can be so dense in their calculations, especially when they're inexperienced. i mean, how stupid can you be??

chalking it up

we recently bought an easel for Dinara's birthday (and Dayana pun seperti biasa, akan menumpang sekaki).

it's a double-faced easel with a chalkboard on one side, and a whiteboard on the other. i would've thought that when buying the easel all its neccessities would be included - apparently not. it only came with magnetic alpahets, a board eraser, paintbrushes and a cup holder. paper, chalk, whiteboard marker, sila beli sendiri ya.

the thing with kids these days is that they never seem to get that they have to put back the cap on the marker after use, else the ink will dry up. heck one marker has already passed away no thanks to the kids, batang hidung cap pun tak jumpe. sigh. baru je ingat nak beli those special markers from Crayola. i'm thinking 1000 times now, no point if the ink dries out simply because they keep forgetting to put back the cap? (i've confiscated all form of marker pens from them edi).

well anyway, i actually wanted to talk about the chalkboard. did you know new chalkboards need to be 'seasoned' before use? i never really bothered to know until i got this easel (it was written in the instructions lol). the reason why we do this is so that the very first drawing on the chalkboard wouldn't stay on the chalkboard forever and couldn't be erased.

chalkboards may seem smooth on the surface, but they are actually fairly rough and porous on a microscopic level. when we first draw on the chalkboard, we jam chalk into the little pores and clog them up with lots of chalk. then we erase the image and spread chalk dust into all of the surrounding pores, so you end up with a ghost image. ghosting is when you draw on a chalkboard and after it is erased – you still see the images, but in black.

to season a chalkboard, take a full piece of chalk and run it on its side over the entire surface of the chalkboard. make sure to rub it in well. once the board is covered with chalk, erase it. this will put an even layer of chalk in the pores all over the board. and so you won't have any problem erasing your drawing and leaving ghosts behind. lol.

the kids were delighted when i took out a piece of chalk (don't think they've ever seen chalk before) and rubbed it all over the board. they took delight in rubbing it off, and also to break my new chalk in half T_T while doodling all over the chalkboard. the bad side about chalk is that they accumulate alot of chalk dust. haih. nampaknye mommy kene vacuum more often than usual.

anyone know of any school teachers i can scalp chalk from? =P~~~ i only have white chalk though. where to find colored chalk ar?

regaining trust

1.Sort Out Your Feelings
2.Communicate, Listen and Apologize
3.Bring Life back to your Relationship
4.Be an Open Book
5.Be Respectful and Reliable
regaining trust in a relationship takes a lot of time and patience. but as long as you communicate with each other about your thoughts, your relationship would only grow stronger with time, and so would the trust in the relationship.

if you want to know how to build trust in a relationship, learn to be frank with your partner. Your partner is your lover, but they’re also supposed to be your best friend, a person who knows you and understands you better than anyone else in the whole world.

seeing the positive side of things doesn’t mean you’re ignoring what happened. instead, it’s a healthy way to work through the experience to allow room for positive growth and forgiveness. it takes a willingness to work on both yourself and the betrayer, but trust can be won back.

if you choose to wallow, you will stifle your ability to truly heal because you’ll end up angry and blaming the person for something you actually have more control over than you think.

but if you can find it in your heart to forgive, then you’ll be able to release anger and hurt... and when trust in a relationship is regained, it is truly healing.

j-day

no, not J-card day.
it's only JM fever.
unfortunate to admit that i never knew who JM was until my friend N told me he designed SN's wedding outfit.
i was like, 'ooOoOOOOoOoOOo' (without substance) =P.

sorry if i live in a cave where fashion doesn't exist.

my first purchase for JM was via Zalora (who many would like to pick a bone with them. or however it is the saying goes...). sold it off immediately because the cutting made me look like i was wearing a sack of potatoes.
yes, people actually buy and sell. who would've thunk?

and i thought only carriers hold resell value...

the PH barter system works wonders too @_@

i must say, he designs beautiful outfits for raya.
i wasn't that crazy to attend J-Box last month. but i know there were many die-hard fans who did. kudos to them.
here's a quick pic of the ones he had to offer during the J-Box that i like.
i have a friend who owns 4 of his designs.
and there are probably more people out there who owns more than that. LOL.

which one do YOU like? =P

this time round, JM's gotten smarter and decided to do a preorder instead. YAY!
great way to handle J-crazed fans.
i've set my mind to just drool over his latest collections for the J-Raya.
here's a pic of the ones i like (i've narrowed it down to ONLY these two three):

my friend has already PMd me asking if i'd be going for his J-Raya. haha.
i wonder if Significant Other would be amused.
dresscode: Jovianista

i dread to imagine myself showing up wearing the same outfit as 50 other people in the same room. hee~~~ we could take a boria photo of something, lalala~

i saw a photo taken by Jovian fans via twitter. it's such a nice photo.

more details of this upcoming J-Raya on his website.

Significant Other

l-e-v-i-d u arse

truth be told, people aren't perfect. everyone makes mistakes.
sometimes you think you know what's right. sometimes you feel that the choices you make are what's best for you.
sometimes you put your belief and trust in the wrong person.
sometimes the decision you make isn't always the right one.
sometimes you think with your ass and end up being in more stickier predicaments that you could possibly imagine.
sometimes you wrongly judge the person who actually happens to be the right person for you in the first place.
in this world today, it's really difficult to find someone sincere enough to like you for who you are.
people have the tendency to take advantage of whoever is gullible and weak. especially when it comes to saving their ass.
it's not easy to choose who to trust. especially when they've been so nice to you, when they've been so seemingly caring about what you've been going through, when they lend an ear to when you needed it the most.

lies, i tell you! they're just using you! *$&%^@! (you might know by now that this is a piss-off letting off steam post, so you nice people should simply stay away and read my other more merrier posts =P).

i have had a friend like this. you know the ones that flit in and out of your life for some reason unknown to you? God works in mysterious ways. you may think you're interpreting things correctly, but then again, you may be wrong. oops. let's call the friend A. i think A is pretty well known among my circle of friends. A might ring a bell those those that can still remember. not just a small fry now, are you? let's dissect A's personality, shall we?

- comes from a well-respected family... i'm skeptical about which apple the tree really fell from
- tends to run when the going gets tough, as in literally pick up and disappear
- loves the zone called 'comfort'. i agree with Significant Other that one should improve yourself from time to time, if you don't then that's not life
- takes expenditure lightly, as in unable to come up with a summary of where every penny went to
- pretends to be your friend and care to boot, then sells you out the moment the situation gets compromised
- complains about another person (let's sayyyy, H) in front of you, but behind you and in front of H? completely different story... total suck-up!
- uses you to his/her advantage. as in for personal gain. then blames you when things go wrong. wtf?
- has potential to ruin a household, not kidding. looks are deceiving. oOoOoOOo a great master at this, this person is
- pretends to care about what you care about, when in actual fact it's the complete opposite

could we sum it all into one word? ---> backstabber. i don't know any other word to define this. Significant Other would say the 'devil'. i guess that's true.

backstabber: a person who pretends to be a friend, but then betrays you.

what i got off the internet in a nutshell:

all backstabbers share a common denominator; they all want something from you. whether it is money, homework, a house to trash, your computer, your style, YOU, practically anything, it varies from person to person.

if somebody betrays you, don't trust that person again without extensive consideration. in my case, NEVER AGAIN! they could be SPIES.

you wanna know how to see whether that person is sincere or not? notice how they treat the things you care about. for instance when you talk about your children, notice whether the words coming from their mouth jive with their actions or not; if their eyes become glassy each time you animatedly talk about them; this means they don't really care about you. i was really stupid not to notice the small things like these.

try to detect from an early stage what the backstabber is interested in sucking from you (sucking. HAHA!). get away from these people as soon as possible and convince others not to associate with them. to put into nice words, just say that 'they aren't the best person to hang out with.' knowing our culture, 1001 questions will pop up immediately after. why ar? apa dia buat? cer cita... blablabla.

don't rely on the backstabber for anything; even the tiniest of things. in this way, you will avoid situations where you owe him/her a favor. he'll suck you dry, if not physically, but spiritually.

also (IMPORTANT!!!) do not tell them any secret that you want kept hidden, as they will tell it to another one of their 'friends' the moment it will gain them something. ohhhhh this is the most important note that pisses me off. if it had nothing to do with you in the first place, why the heck did you think it was yours to tell? b-e-n-g-o-n-g.

one thing the internet advised was: try to avoid revenge. you should never reduce yourself to his level (which is lower than scum) because you're so much better of a person to begin with. God is fair. but if you simply have to get even, then go right ahead, i won't stop you. bwahahhahahahah.

to that so-called friend?
you were never worth my time. i never should've thought it was a friendship worth maintaining.

feed me

granted, i fail at cooking. sigh. i have very picky eaters as my children. so elly, if you have more simple recipes for kids i can try out, do share! =P~~ in my attempt to go for simple (and whatever that was available in the fridge), this was what i came up with:

macaroni soup, with chicken and finely diced potatos. the smaller they are, the higher chance of my kids swallowing without question
(lol i remember WAing nurel and zelbie on what spices i could use for the soup... i didn't have any soup cubes with me, just tons of spices i bought last time for that fish soup i attempted to make last time).

since maggi was unhealthy blablabla and i didn't like yellow mee, i decided to used air-fried mee instead (got the idea from elle).
belasah je goreng with chopped mushroom (mil loves mushrooms, they were abundant in the fridge), chicken, and carbonara sauce.
wished i had broccoli lying around. Dayana hates carrots for some reason. mati2 Daddy cakap princesses makan carrots, sebab tu princess pretty...
i think it worked twice before his words fell on deaf ears.

same recipe as above, only this time soup-based. my kids are a very big fan of soup. i think i need to add more color into my cooking next time, tengok aja pun cam tak menarik je, huhu.

and this one? my husband's favorite. he says at least i'm good at one thing *sweat*. i prefer my pasta with spaghetti instead of macaroni. sauce is the same: lego's napoletana sauce + mince meat + cheese.

(ok i'm hungry now, and my tummy is still gassy from yesterday's teh tarik T_T)

.
.
.
.
.
and resipi Melayu...? still not there yet. oops.

eltii pweety

firstly, you can tell from my posts that i'm slowly moving away from babywearing gear. i realized i don't need that many (doesn't help that Dinara doesn't fancy being carried long-term sigh) so i'm keeping the ones that i love (i'm having a hard time to dwindle the numbers down). each time i log into the bwm and don't seem to influenced by the recent posts, that means i'm partially cured, me thinks. haha *touch wood* (note: does not include current iso's hee).
(ekceli, i just realized that there are more interesting things out there to 'ponder' over... see below).

surely you've heard of FashionValet, they've been going higher up the fashion ladder and have been in the spotlight for quite awhile already. anyway i'm not here to blog about them, i simply want to gush over one of the accessories brand that they carry, Eltii.

(before you ask, images are all urm, 'borrowed' from FV's website)

i don't know much about this label, only that i fell in love with their vintage necklaces. it reminds me of traditional, although never mind it reminds me of metal as well, haha.

initially i was eyeing this one, but then as usual i bookmark the page first, so by the time i made up my mind it was already gone. meet Sophia:

then my roving eyes decided it liked this instead. this is Alya:

not a surprise, i was late again.... i added to cart, dilly-dallied sana sini... and it sold out T_T (i wanted the bronze btw). determined not to be perturbed by other crazy fashionistas this time, the instant they restocked i added to cart and checked out. MUAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA. used up whatever loyalty points i had (so dear before you scream your head off, i got this at a discount ok).

this is me, failing to cam-whore as always

anyway, saw these two new beauties in stock in FV. meet Aysa and Alma. and no i haven't didn't get them:

slowly moving cursor to the X button on the upper right corner of screen...
there's so many different fashions out there, it's just a matter of finding the right one for you (and your other half, because he's the one that's gonna stare at you all day anyway).

eltii... make more necklaces! me likey!

ombak rindu

Ombak Rindu – Hafiz/Adira

Tuhan tolong lembutkan hati dia
Untuk terima ku seadanya
Kerna ku tak sanggup
Kerna ku tak mampu
Hidup tanpa dia di sisi ku

Tuhan aku tahu banyak dosa ku
Hanya ingat Kamu kala duka ku
Namun hanya Kamu yang mampu membuka
Pintu hatinya untuk cintaku

Malam kau bawalah rinduku
Untuk dirinya yang jauh dari ku
Agar dia tidak kesepian
Selalu rasa ada cinta agung

Hujan bawa air mata ku
Yang mengalir membasuh luka ku
Agar dia tahu ku terseksa
Tanpa cinta dia di hatiku

Hanya mampu terserah
Moga cahaya di penanti

Tuhan tolong lembutkan hati dia
Untuk terima ku seadanya

Kerna ku tak sanggup
Kerna ku tak mampu
Hidup tanpa dia di sisi ku
