batman v superman

i'm not a die-hard fan, so of course i never did get it when people were disappointed with the movie.

i find the movie ok.
as always, i'm on team Superman. bahahhahaha.

Ben Affleck made a decent Batman, actually.
my reaction when i first heard he was cast was the same as from an online message board Affleck came across:
(i read about this from imdb)

"Affleck as Batman? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!"

Lex Luthor reminded me or a deranged Joker actually. i always thought John Shea had made a great portrayal of the character (again, note that i don't follow the comics).

and is it a coincidence that both their mothers had the same name? i seriously didn't realize it until i watched the movie. hmmmmm.

so... who's your pick? Batman or Superman? =D

movie flicks

here's a few movies i've watched within the past month that's worth mentioning.

San Andreas

... not long after that, a series of earthquakes erupted.
or was it the other way round? hmmmmm.
the only movie i don't like the Rock in was GI Joe. that movie sucked.
Significant Other thinks Alexandra Daddario is hot.
when in doubt, always keep a plane or heli at bay somewhere.

Mad Max: Fury Road

i would recommend that you not view the trailer before watching this, like i did.
i dreaded watching the movie, until i was dragged by Significant Other to watch it with him.
however my opinion turned 360 degrees after that, haha.
it is not your typical movie.
i didn't even watch the previous Mad Max movies (previously played by Mel Gibson, now played by Tom Hardy).
but i seriously enjoyed the movie. hahahahaha.
just watch lah. see what i mean.
Nicholas Hoult has a role in the movie (think the Beast, Warm Bodies). lol.

Jurassic World

who thinks CHRIS PRATT is HOT???
*raise of uncountable hands*

who thinks RAPTORS are hot???
*cricket noise from the ladies*

lol just kidding.
i can still remember watching the first ever Jurassic Park movie, and am definitely not gonna miss the latest installment.
who doesn't remember that toilet scene??? haha. morbid memory.
the movie's score has always been epic, and always will be.
funny how nobody reprised their roles from the first movie (no, that Asian guy doesn't count).
the first movie to have the dinosaur park fully functional.
gosh, i so want to ride in a gyrosphere.
oh and i want Claire's car - the Mercedes GLE Coupe.

Minions

bring the kids along.
Sophia, being the 2-year old that she is, was simply enthralled by the Dinosaur, Scarlet Overkill, then halfway throughout the movie got bored and decided that sitting in my lap and feeding me popcorn was much more interesting.
lol.
anyhow, the movie's not as boombastic as i thought it could be, but it's still very worth the watch.
who DOESN'T LIKE MINIONS???
Scarlet Overkill's character could be more evil, but hey, they call it the Minion movie for a reason.
oh, Bob knows abit of Malay. did you know? haha.
stick around until the end credits for music sung by the cast, if you're into that sort of thing.

ok the baby's awake. jya ne~

oblivious

i'm not really a fan of Tom Cruise really, despite him acting in all those awesome action movies (and despite having a drop dead gorgeous daughter). but this recent movie of his ain't too bad. the storyline that is. it beats G.I. Joe: Retaliation any day. i thought the movie would be sucky since it's sci-fi based (and my initial reaction at watching the trailer was 'ugh'), but seriously, it makes a good watch. these days it's difficult to find movies you can truly be satisfied with (or perhaps people are more harder to please as they grow older hoho).

Oblivion, currently in cinemas
the heroine look familiar? she's a Bond girl. Russian. there ain't many main actors in the movie, the other two being Morgan Freeman and some girl that i am not familiar of. the rest of them consists of a bunch of extras supposedly being the 'aliens'. hmmmm.

the drones are scary imo. i wouldn't go out fixing them on my own, for you can never predict the behaviour of machines, they might be your friend one moment, the enemy the next. the movie's setting kinda reminds me of some sort of video game, like a cross between Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy hahahah.

but the aliens could be a bit more... aggressive?

anyhoo, Iron Man 3 will be out next week. mau tengok!

tony stark. eep!
i'm also looking forward to Despicable Me 2. i can never ge enough of this funny-looking blown up fat yellow pills... the minions! or the 'cousins of Gru'. Dinara absolutely loves them. i know i can bring Dayana to the cinema because she knows how to behave, but Dinara? -____-

coming in July?

not another snow white

sil ajak tengok movie semalam. and knowing me, sapa ajak, ikut je la kan? haha.
we had dinner at Johnny's first before the movie. ade orang tu kempunan steamboat since the last time we went for a movie, the week before we watched MIB3.
just as i got back home, Significant Other called, asking me, 'eh MIB3 ade end bit tak?'
cheh. tgk wayang tak cakap kat i pun.

sil is fashionably late, as always. i think there has never been a movie i've watched with her where i've never missed the starting of the movie, hahahahaha.
so we watched Snow White and the Huntsman.
from the title, i imagined that an army of huntsmen were after Snow White.
mana la tau hunstman tu sorg je. hahaha.

Snow White and the Huntsman. his weapon of choice in my mind mildly resembles Thor's hahaha

aaaaaaaaarrggghhh evil! but she's so pwiddy it's hard to hate her lol

a dark movie, this one. i only wished there were more romantic elements in the movie, hahahaha. since we all know how the story goes, and since there were two guys in the film i was like, ok, so who's the actual hero? Eric or William?
Charlize Theron is scary. Kristen Stewart does what she does best: dies, then comes back to life, LOL (sorry, but i can't help being reminded of Twilight while watching the movie).
now i'm compelled to watch Mirror Mirror too, another Snow White movie wannabe.

what is it with Snow White?? =P~

May 27, 2012

can u? seriously?

i really don't know who made the clip... but seriously? can you? @_@
someone's considering using this as a ringtone.
i suppose after a few dozen renditions, i might just place the phone permanently at the bottom of the ocean T__T.
you?

anyway, i dare you to listen to the full length of the video. HAHA.

yet another movie marathon

Significant Other came back for the weekend. so as usual, our weekend activity would involve movie night(s). the three movies that got Significant Other's approval for last weekend:

1.Cabin in the Woods - for its Zombie appeal T__T
2.Lockout - for its sci-fi element T____T
3.Avengers - must i say more? =D

1. Cabin in the Woods

stupid zombie movie @_@. the whole ending didn't make sense. but i read the movie got high ratings from Rotten Tomatoes (91% approval ratings? egad) so i guess i have lousy movie taste. haha.
i wouldn't spend the night in a cabin in the woods even if you paid me a million bucks.

wait, scratch that. maybe i would. lol.

anyway, i wish the movie had explored the other death options in the basement. probably zombies were the easiest form of monster to recreate for the movie? and i do seem to think zombies are a favorite in this era *shudders*.
i can't believe Chis Hemsworth and Jesse Williams are in the movie, it never fails to amuse me how people can be one character in a movie/series, and then become a totally different character the next. lol. the power of being a good actor, i guess?
Fran Kranz's face kept bugging me throughout the whole film because he looked familiar. finally struck me that he played Topher Brink in Dollhouse.

kesimpulan: if weird trap doors suddenly open up for no reason, jangan buat2 macho, sayangilah nyawa anda. also, please do not stand near windows, you never know what evil being would smash through and drag you out into the darkness. also, if you plan to make out, please literally get a room. oh and don't jump ravines on motorcycles in the dark. you never know that there might be an invisible barrier out there. kggal.

2. Lockout

this movie was slightly better than Cabin in the Woods - i'm not a fan of sci-fi, but i dislike the undead even more.
i find it amusing that they can afford to ship inmates to outer space like it costs only 50 cents one-way. hahahahaha. i thought space travel was expensive. or does it get relatively cheaper in the future?
i would not set foot on MS1 even if you pay me a million dollars. you never know what could happen out there in space, like in the movie. you think in case of emergencies you can just float away to another planet? @_@

kesimpulan: this makes a better alternative to watch just in case the Avengers are still sold out =P. oh, and it's advisable not to name your son Marion.

3. Avengers

awesome movie ever. i'd watch it all over again =D.
sil stands by her opinion that HawkEye is the hottest hottie ever. lol.
oh, i can't believe that Cobie Smulders is in the movie. for some weird reason each time she's on the screen i seem to feel like i'm watching a comedy instead of an action movie. lol. How I Met Your Mother seems to be influencing my brain =P.

kesimpulan: awesome awesome awesome! jom tengok lagi!

October 12, 2011

what's your number?

ok no ramblings from me yet. the movie was so-so, i just find Chris Evans hot =P funny how i never realized that in Captain America. and i sure as hell did not find him attractive in Fantastic Four. i found him rather annoying, in fact =P

i mean, come one, who wouldn't want a hot neighbor that appears naked every morning at his front door just to pickup the newspaper? KGGAL.

photos source: Google

hot hot hot

fairy tale ending that only happens in movies

*heart*

so the story's about this woman (Farris) who has slept with 19 men (oh make that 20) and realizes that she's doomed to spinsterhood for life - "in America 96% of women who've been with 20 or more lovers can't find a husband". so she decides to track down all those men with the hopes that at least one of them might actually be meant for her - people change, don't they? and she enlists the help of her womanizing neighbor (Evans) across the hallway to track those men down. he in return uses her apartment as an excuse to ditch women after a night at his apartment.

i didn't put high expectations on this one. heck it received very low ratings at Rotten Tomatoes, lol. you don't really have to put too much of your mind to figure out everything. so... watch it only if you think Chris Evans is hot? =P~~~~

July 14, 2011

the end of all seven

squeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! sapa mau ikut tengok tomorrow?

Significant Other knows nuts about the movie. he thinks magic is crap. he obviously didn't read the book. the last HP movie installment that we went to, the Part One of Book 7, he kept asking me this and that, bla bla bla... who's this? why that? (macam Dayana je gayanya) sampai i lost concentration on the movie. chis.

no kids allowed this time. last weekend i brought the kids to watch Mr. Popper's Penguins, Dayana either wanted to sit on the floor or my lap, Dinara didn't want to sleep and kept squeaking throughout the whole movie (kuat pulak tu), then both the kids got restless that i ended up watching the last part of the movie at the top of the stairs behind the audience (while the kids started a crawling competition at the back). disaster. i think if Jim Carrey was a cartoon character, Dayana would've enjoyed the movie more. i guess the penguins weren't enough to hold Dayana's attention. haha.

anyway, TGV revamped their web portal. buying tickets seem much easier now, but i'm kinda lost navigating through the site, like information for Upcoming Movies and such (macam tak cukup info jerk). or when Hanna and Captain America will be shown (i found the info i needed from GSC though =P).

the girls of monte carlo

gahh. i wish i hadn't seen this movie.
now i wish i was Grace Bennet. who meets a handsome guy in Monte Carlo.
who got to go to France! (i've never been there).
how i wish i was 18 again.
kggal.

source: google

if you're a movie critique, then this movie's best left alone.
if you're looking for a teen movie, then this is it.
leighton meester is more cuter in gossip girl i say.
oh and i love selena gomez's hair. not a fan of the belieber though. lol.

Who says...
Who says you're not perfect?
Who says you're not worth it?
Who says you're the only one that's heard it?
Trust me,
That's the curse of beauty
Who says you're not pretty?
Who says you're not beautiful?
Who says...

fast5, thor & the roommate

first advice: don't watch Thor in 3D. my friend recently described watching a 3D movie as 'simply watching the 3D effects of the movie unfold in a big square box'. i kinda agree. it's not worth paying rm43 for two people just to watch 3D effects with the illusion of 3D limited to that particular square box. haha.

i'd rather go for the 3D effect where everything jumps out at you from the screen (now THAT's 3D!). the best 3D movie i've watched so far that i remember was The Polar Express at iMax Times Square years ago. shame they closed down the theatres.

anyway, we went for a movie marathon at TGV Pyramid right after we got back from KK. we've done 2 back-to-back movies before, so this day really broke the record by watching 3 non-stop @_@.

first up: Fast5.
-----

i don't really follow the F&F movies, but the they're kinda inter-related. the last movie ended with Toretto being shipped off somewhere on a prison transport, with the others planning an assault to free him, and this movie picks up the storyline from there.

i wish i can pull off a robbery such as that one. kakakakaka. i wish i could maneuver a car like that! Significant Other says there should be more car-action, more sexy cars, more hot love scenes? *scensored*.

stay til the end of the movie, there's a short scene right after the end of credits. annoying isn't it, that you have to sit through all those scrolling names just to see a 1-2 minute end scene? i think they purposely do that just to make you sit through all that, hahah. let's just say the Fast movies won't be ending so soon.

second up: Thor.
-----

i don't follow all the super heroes either, so i've never heard of this Thor person prior to this. i do know he's a Marvel comic character, haha. he's also some sort of god of thunder in Germanic mythology.

i got a big headache watching the movie through those 3D glasses. i really wished the movie had a bigger storyline, but mind you Rotten Tomatoes gave it an 83% approval rating so i guess my taste is different from other movie-goers =P. i wouldn't call it boring. bak kate my friends Lix and Niz, 'Thor is Awesome!' (their exact words haha). i just wished there was more action, you know? oh well. let's wait for The Avengers then.

you should also stay til the end of the movie, there's a short scene right after the end of credits. Nick Fury is everywhere these days, don't you think? he's busy recruiting it seems. lol.

we actually planned to watch 2 movies but after Thor ended Significant Other wanted to watch another movie, so we simply bought tickets for the next available movie, which was The Roommate. i didn't realize TGV Pyramid had cinemas #11 and #12 located at the other side of the hall.

third: The Roommate.
-----

so-so movie. think twice about acquiring a roommate after this. make sure your rommate is SANE. there's two kinds of crazy roommates: one that wants you all to your self, and one that practically wants to be you and might go up to the point that she might eliminate you just to become you. which one's your pick? =D

funny how the two main characters seem to look alike at some angles. Significant Other says Leighton Meester doesn't fit into her character, but what does he know? he's bias; he loves Blair Waldorf! (and he is such a die-hard Gossip Girl fan, he's a fan of the Humphrey-Waldorf storyline, hehe).

verdict?
Fast5 is worth watching if you like hot cars. and if you like Vin Diesel. and if you have any future plans in robbing the bank someday. my friends prefer Paul Walker though. haha.

Thor is ok. i probably shouldn't have watched it in 3D. i seriously wish they was more action though. and a guy looking as hot as Chris Hemsworth simply doesn't exist in real life, do they? =D

The Roommate is just plain blargh. hah. watch this if you don't have anything better to do.

a funny note to ponder: the wife of Chris Hemsworth has a role in Fast 5. guess which one she is =P. they look more or less the same, 'athletic-ky'. lol!
