NOTE TO SELF: GET THIS DONE PRONTO.
i went for my 36th checkup yesterday and my Dr. had me do a CTG T____T. 2.4kg yo. i was like whaaaaa.? i haven't been having much of an appetite lately, where did those extra grams come from???
after so many times experiencing birth, my hospital bag checklist keeps on getting simpler and simpler.
mainly because you become wiser that you don't really need to pack your entire house, and also because by then you should be smart enough to differentiate between the necessities and the junkies.
so... here's my list. so that when the time comes i just have to click this post and voila, everything's there. i like to scribble on random scraps of paper and it's very annoying when i can never manage to find that particular piece of paper when i really need it. my boss has always been amused to see me doing this, especially when it comes to jotting down my work notes lol.
me:
nursing friendly tops
kain batik / comfy pants
panties
disposable pads (i hate hospital pads)
nursing bras + pads (i need to replace my Avent ones, so masam already after three kids)
socks
sweater
towel
phone + phone charger + cable
pink folder (which documents all my hospital appointments)
slippers
nursing cover
plastic bag for dirty clothes
laptop (=P)
light snacks (just in case you get hungry in the middle of the night)
water bottle
tissue
toiletries:
toothbrush + toothpaste
facial wash
body wash
hairbrush
shampoo
lotion
face powder
lip balm
the baby:
going home outfit
swaddle blankie
hat
diapers (just in case)
baby wipes
ta-da! that's it. now if only i have the mood to get started with going through the kids' old baby clothes to see what needs washing and what can be reused for the new baby. so malas T_T.

week 31
9 weeks to go, and already i've been having such horrible back pain, something i didn't experience previously. sit down oso sakit belakang, lie down oso susah mau settle into a comfy position, and if i do find that comfy position (whatever that is), my ribcage would start to hurt. or the 'cabbage' might probably end up weighing down on my internal organs.
yeah. must be an obvious sign that i'm aging. T__T
i wonder if you can overdose on calcium intake. *rushes off to make meself a cup of Friso Mum Gold*.
did i ever mention that Friso Mum Gold ain't so bad? i used to take Anmum Materna during my previous pregnancies. i was walking down the formula aisle at Tesco when this sales promoter stopped and handed me a sample of Friso Mum. luckily that was all she did (because i hate pushy sales promoters), else her samples might've ended up in the dustbin. i actually ended up liking the sample =D which prompted me to get myself one tin before the baby leeches all the nutrients out from my system T_T. i remember there was this persistent sales promoter in Jusco who would never fail to bug me to buy her formula each time i wanted to get my usual brand of milk for the elder three. grrrr.
i gotta say, Friso Mum Gold and Anmum Materna beat Enfamama A+ any day. i received Enfamama A+ samples from my gynae during my first trimester and disliked it horribly X_X. didn't like it then, don't like it now.
when Sophia wants something, she'll say 'naknaknaknaknaknaknak'.
however when she wants to hand you something, she'll also say 'naknaknaknak', but with less intensity. hahaha.
i can't get a decent photo of her most of the time, mainly because whenever she sees me trying to capture her photo, she'll hurry over to peer at my phone screen, so the photos i take of her end up being selfies haha. here's a blur photo of her grinning at her image in my phone. she's such a little vain pot.
Sparky's kittehs are growing up beautifully btw. Sophia's nuts about them. i dunno what bil's planning to do with all six of them once they're old enough to separate from their mother. i can't tell the whites apart at all, they all look like the same shade of furballs to me.
we went to Toys R Us during the weekend, and i couldn't help asking the elder two kids to slip these outfits on (because Mommy finds them a bit impractical if she were to buy them):
luckily they weren't too hung up on buying the outfits. they were more interested in the toys. Dayana kept pestering me to get her the 'Breezy' that she didn't get the last time we were there. Dinara didn't care what she got, as long as she got something. the youngest? she was too busy roaming the aisles freely to even care whether she got anything or not, lol.
oh, so anyone attending this Animax event in Sunway Pyramid later this month? i helped my sister get a ticket yesterday. the person who sold it to me asked if it was compulsory to dress up for the event. errrrr isn't that applicable to cosplay events? so i think not - but you never know with these crazy anime lovers...

of being 7 months
28 weeks today! that makes me what, 7 months pregnant?
a summary of my 7 months so far:
- i've developed a big craving for sushi... bad, bad.
- also developed a sudden craving for tea - be it teh ais, teh o ais, early grey milk tea (with coffee jelly! :D), is it because of all that sugar? i dunno. but i really shouldn't be drinking all that ice -___-
- my eczema has been flaring up like nobody's business, it's the itchy and scratchy show all over again. i threw out my Palmer's Cocoa butter and opted for my Bio Oil, i think this works wonders compared to the latter.
- i got gastric twice while i was in Prague (omg it was hell, i couldn't even enjoy my second zoo trip), i got gastric again a few weeks ago when i went without food for almost 12 hours (i had an early dinner and didn't sleep and my next food intake was only during breakfast).
- i get really bad back pains at times. and cramps. is that a sign of calcium deficiency? i dunno lah. or maybe because i'm not 25 anymore, haha.
- the baby's a whopping 1.1kg now. which means i still have room for tummy expansion. hands up to those who find the sight of potruding belly buttons simply weird.
- in total insanity-ness, Birdsong, Four Seasons and Ember got the boot (wrap talk here).
- waiting to see the Dr. seems to be getting longer and longer and longer =( i hope the new KPJ hospital nearby will be able to absorb some of DEMC's existing patients, i seriously don't want to be told that there's no available labor room while i'm experiencing real contractions later when i'm about to give birth.
- oh btw, tetanus jab sakit lah. i took it yesterday and my arm still feels numb until now. my Dr. tells me that this is the very same jab all newborns get during their first three months of life. ouch. no wonder them babies yell their lungs out.
- i have nothing to wear. like really. malas nak waste money on outfits i won't be wearing ever after i deliver.
so i've been figuring out what set bersalin is worth trying out this fourth time round. for the last three my mil got me the Minyak Afiat set, which i really didn't use (i like their shower gel, and the minyak afiat, but i wasn't too fond of some of the other stuff included in the set). i heard Tanamera was good. another friend of mine is using Nona Roguy. any suggestions?
also, Significant Other plans to get a new freezer, because the current one we have ices over like it's the North Pole, until icicles form -__- we practically have to use an ice pick to get stuff out once this happens. he's eyeing the chest freezer, while i'm hoping for the upright freezer. my only justification is that you get to organize things better with the drawers. but i think you can throw in more stuff if you get a chest freezer, no? besides, chest freezers are much more cheaper than the drawer type. also, with the new addition, i'm hoping to lengthen my EBM journey to 2 years this time instead of the standard 1 year (which was not by choice).
ok i'm done rambling. lol.

36 weeks
i'm now 36 weeks fat!
had my 35th-36th week checkup on Monday. after friday would be the 'anytime now' waiting game, which annoys me because you have no idea when that will be. today? tomorrow? lusa? tulat? next week? after voting day? especially when you have so many things left to do before delivering a baby leaves you temporarily immobile. sighhhh. am so not looking forward to a surprise delivery. baby has grown from 1.7kg to 2.2kg injust 2 weeks. i'm tired of taking so many toilet breaks, and turning from one side to another is like torture to some of the organs in my body, haha.
last Sunday i somehow lost my appetite, what a mistake that was. i ended up experiencing my first round of Braxton hicks this third pregnancy. sakittttt ok. Significant Other asked me if i wanted to head to the hospital. i merely said that i wanted to eat =P. today is probably his last week before he finishes for good at flying school. am gonna miss Langkawi, but i'm definitely not gonna miss the sun's scorching heat which rather nastily made my skin turn dull.
am in the midst of packing my hospital bag. i can't remember if the hospital provided me towels or not during my last delivery. during my first delivery at the old building at section 9 they never provided me with anything except for a small bag of toiletries. i've cleared out the kids' wardrobe and found a whole bunch of junk - unused 9oz bottles since Dinara prefers drinking from the 4oz bottles, menstrual pads people kept giving out for free at expos and fairs, a whole lot of baby wipes i totally forgot about, some blankies that i got during hospital checkups (and would like to give away or donate, anyone interested?), to name a few of many. anyone wants obimin plus? i have an unused box too. i've just completed a round of clothes washing for the baby, and still have a few more rounds to do, including washing the new towels that i've gotten for the little miss sunshine (about the only new item of clothing for the baby, the rest is 100% reuse recycle). the cot is still untouched, and the car seat is still stored on top of the cabinet in the guest room.
next week my gynae has set an appointment with me for a ctg scan, i don't think i've ever done one before save for a few hours before i delivered Dayana, and not even once during my second pregnancy because i kept delaying appointments as my due date got closer. on the day i delivered Dinara pun tak sempat nak do any kind of check up, i kinda admitted myself into hospital at the last minute, hebat sangat konon (actually i was waiting for Significant Other to finish bathing T_T).
i gave up looking for my nursing cover. i reckon i'd come across it when i'm not even looking for it. i've already overhauled the kids room and my closets, still no nursing cover T_T (but i found my dot's training pants which i misplaced, hahah). i'm tired of running out of storage space in my room. as the years go by, total number of accumulated stuff pun increase. i'm slowly learning how to throw stuff away without mercy, no kidding. i recently threw out a 6-year old bottle of expired perfume, sayang konon. but the smell absolutely gives me a headache. the only setback of recycling clothing from one baby to the next is those yellowish spots they tend to get over time. but the baby won't mind. wait for another 2 years or so for her to start having fashion sense, like how Dinara is at the moment. hari2 dia boleh pakai baju yang sama, if she doesn't get what she wants, mengamuklah cik kiah tu takmo pakai baju. tsk.
btw, LTE is now available for iPhone5 users (and other selected mobile devices) at certain locations only. download speeds up to more than 40Mbps, kalah unifi Significant Other says. mana aci iPhone4s tak dapat ok. in fact, i keep getting E these days, which doesn't justify the price i'm paying to maxis for my data plan.
both kids are having fever right now. mommy yang penat. at least the eldest takes her meds. the youngest one puts up a fight like we're trying to poison her, sigh. hope you're having a jolly good weekend. all i wanna do right now is put up a fight with the dust in SOHO. haha. nesting, much?

so i had a baby#1 and baby#2 checklist before.
you wanna see what's in baby#3's checklist?

..5 stretchy sleepsuits
..1-2 hats..mittens and booties

..baby crib and mattress - to reassemble
..cot bumpers, fitted sheet, comforter
..mattress (latex or foam)
..waterproof bedpads
..blankets - Mothercare (i'm going to use Dinara's, since she got attached to her 'Bear' rather than her blankie like Dayana did)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so when will i have time to double check my inventory? i dropped by the baby expo in MV last Friday, which was a bit of a disappointment for they only occupied two halls and the things that were for sale weren't what i was looking for. i only ended up getting two Avent bottles, a couple of pacifiers, and hooded towels for the newborn. and i've decided to get all the toiletries from Tesco, haha.
my gynae estimated that i'd be due by the end of the month judging from my track record. i hope it would be sometime within the first week of May because April seems too early. my edd is mid-May. i already got no mood to do work, pregnancy brain and eye vision sucks big time.
i visited my gynae last Monday morning, and for the first time in a long time, i got to be the first patient of the day to see my gynae, haha. of course i still had to wait awhile, but that's expected. i brought Dinara with me since i abandoned her during my LIMA trip, but she didn't seem remotely interested in the 2d scans showing up on the new Samsung monitor which my gynae had just acquired. her ultrasound machine broke down recently and she just got a new replacement. better technology apparently, because even my gynae seemed a little jakun while she was scanning D3, haha.
my ribcage aches more often than not (at first i thought it's because of my bra's underwire). i can't even find a comfortable position to sleep each night - if i sleep on my right, baby will kick like crazy because apparently that's where her head resides, if i sleep on my left, i feel like gravity is descending on me double the weight. sometimes you can just feel the baby stretching in the womb, imagine a cat on all fours stretching its body after a long nap. whenever she does that you can feel so much pressure on your bladder and intestines and you start to wonder if the baby wants to come out now T_T (oi, i still got 5 weeks+ to go ok, i haven't even prepared my hospital bag yet!). going up the stairs leave me breathless more often than not (and yet i'm amazed at myself for braving the crazy number of stairs during the F1 pit walk visit a couple of weeks ago @_@).
ooh this arrived for the baby and me. so eksaited to go home and wash my hair now. haha. got this from my friend Aida's cozy online store, drop by if you're into natural.
we haven't decided on a name yet for this little bub. might get started on reorganizing the kids closet later tonight to see what else i can recycle or give away. toodles~

ooh this arrived for the baby and me. so eksaited to go home and wash my hair now. haha. got this from my friend Aida's cozy online store, drop by if you're into natural.
we haven't decided on a name yet for this little bub. might get started on reorganizing the kids closet later tonight to see what else i can recycle or give away. toodles~

26 weeks
yerp, going into 26 weeks this week, give or take. small?
heck i don't think i even gained any significant weight T__T.
my gynae would be so mad. lol.
some say i'm carrying low, i suppose that's true, baby loves to bear down weight, ouchhhhh.
i'm practically living in dresses and leggings these days. maternity wear? umm, no.
they don't cater cool-looking outfits for XS people anyway. they assume everyone balloons after childbirth - not the case for me.
these days i've been craving for sweets and desserts. baby's doing no doubt.
have you tried love potion #31 from baskin robbins? lol this is the first time i've heard of it (nurel says i live in the dark ages). the usual flavors we'd usually get at BR would be gold medal ribbon (Significant Other's favorite). another flavor i like is cotton candy because it reminds me of rainbow paddle pop. love potion #31 is 'white chocolate and raspberry ice cream swirled with a raspberry ribbon and loaded with raspberry-filled dark chocolate hearts and chocolate chips'. sugar high, much?
according to nurel it only makes an appearance in january. i tried it on her insistance and yes this is one flavor i like too. nurel went crazy and bought herself a small tub on the 31st to indulge on, lolz.
another dessert i'm craving for is Chocolocious Sundae from Delicious, sil's recommendation. it's like a combination of ice cream and pavlova, we went out for dinner the other day and had dessert at Delicious afterwards. ooh the red velvet is nice there too. if i had a mixer and oven with me right i'd probably go out for ingredients and make myself one. haha.
all this talk about food is making me hungry. too bad there's only one (or more like 3/4) Cadbury bar left in the fridge to pig out on, lol.

something to share
somebody decided to be cheeky and post this on FB.
out of the blue i bought a cheapskate upt test and had a go (i've never splurged on sticks before. if i bought clear blu, then i'd have to frame it). i took the test a few weeks back, it came back -ve. this time however, i got a different result.
Significant Other left his wallet when he left for Langkawi so i had to courier it to him. ok so this time i decided to be creative. i thought why not let him see for himself instead of me telling him? i don't really remember how i broke the news to him during my last two pregnancies, i only remember him diligently asking me 'dah P belum?'. real cocky of him, see.
when the parcel arrived the next day, he only commented on how he got his wallet and how prettily wrapped the box was (i recycled a gift box, complete with its original wrapping paper). told him to check the box again, there was something else in there. he almost threw away the whole box -___-
i should have remembered to mail the instruction leaflet with the test.
and so he asked, 'so what does this mean?'. i don't know whether he was feigning total blankness for the fun of it or that he really didn't know (forgot that only females know this test the best). his friends on FB had a field day.
no wonder my rumet messaged me out of the blue. cheh.
the best part was, he told me, 'do you know the worse thing? i actually touched it with my bare hands!!!'. oops. LOL.
i didn't think he'd post on FB so soon @_@. it's still too early, and you know how i feel about jinxes *touch wood*. i wonder if he's more excited than me.
the only symptom at the moment = metallic taste in mouth.
so here's looking forward to everything that comes with the word that starts with the letter 'P'.
p/s. some people can be so dense in their calculations, especially when they're inexperienced. i mean, how stupid can you be??

my hospital checklist
no contractions, nothing. just the occasional push on the bladder that makes me want to frequently visit the toilet on an half-hourly basis, lol.
stiletos sudah beranak. ntah2 the mamas i chatted with in the DA forums pun sudah beranak (the thread itu suddenly sunyi sepi... lol). so now i'm waiting for my turn - 13 days to go. in 2008 13 days before my due date i'd have already delivered Dayana. i guess this one wants to stay in the oven a bit longer. i guess i can happily say that this one will be another Virgo, yay!
right after attending the antenatal class at DEMC last month, i decided to start packing my hospital bag - but i think my plan terbengkalai half way, incompleted - i didn't want to bring too many things to the hospital, half of which might deem useless like last time, hoho. besides, since we live nearby i could always ask Significant Other to fetch anything i terforgot to bring. some of the minor stuff - toiletries mostly - i haven't packed yet. and i was thinking whether i need to bring along my breastpump too. i didn't want to bring too many bags either.
but the problem of packing early is, i already forgotten what i stuffed into my bag. and i'm the type that really stuffs everything in - if i choose to unpack the bag, chances are i'll never get the stuff to fit back in again, lol.
anyway, here's my new hospital bag checklist. i realized i never made one last time, so here's my new list for reference:
1.My stuff:
Toiletry bag <- to stuff *necessities in
Undies - 3
Socks - 1
Nursing cover - 1
Cloth pads - 3
Disposable pads - 6
Nursing bras - 2
Bedroom slippers -
Plastic bag for dirty clothes -
Going home outfit - brown pants & blue nursing top
Bath towel - 1 <- just in case they still don't provide towels, even with the upgrade, i still think they don't
Black nightgown - to pack
Nursing tops - 2
Kain batik - 2
*my toiletries:
Shampoo,
shower cream,
lotion,
tootbrush + toothpaste,
facial wash,
sikat,
face powder,
lip balm,
camera
phones & cable / charger
2. For Baby:
Baju to wear home + hat
Receiving blankie
Cloth wipes / towel (just in case)
*previously everything was provided by the hospital until the moment you get discharged from the hospital
3.Medela breastpump <- just in case
that's it. for now. hehe. i'm craving Carl's Jr's classic burger right now. i prefer CJ over BK any day =D. had it at the Pavilion last weekend, and now i can't get it out of my system... arrgghhh

we're excited
i reached the 36th mark!!!! *cuak cuak*
i went for my routinal checkup last Saturday at demc. i thought i was the only one looking forward to this visit, but it looked like there was actually someone else who was more excited than me - my eldest. lol!
she was so excited to enter my gynae's room. said hi to everyone (only my gynae and nurse were in the room, btw), then started babbling away in her own language. whatever my gynae asked her, she gave a very descriptive answer as if she really knew what she was talking about. haha. she was excited as i was being prepped for the usual baby scan, even insisted to sit by me on the cramped bed and stare at awe at the monitor even if she didn't even know what the heck she was looking at. when my gynae asked her if she was talking in german, she happily agreed. haha. i don't even need to teach my daughter another language, apparently she already mastered a language on her own, keke...
on the other hand, baby #2 now weighs at 2.3kg. my gynae is optimistic that this little one will be slightly bigger than Dayana, seeing that i still have about ~4 weeks to go before i reach week 40. and even then i'm secretly hoping i deliver earlier - Dayana was born at week 38, 2 weeks earlier than her EDD. but so far i've only gained about 10 kilos compared to last time (i was my heaviest ever at 53.5kg haha), i think this baby is leeching all the nutrients from my system it's no wonder that people take one look at me and don't see any form of weight gain (except for my belly of course, sometimes i get scared looking at my big round tummy in the mirror hoho). i'm supposed to go for another checkup this week, but can i procrastinate and go for the next week instead? to pay about rm100 per visit is crying murder, especially when everything in my case is sdn. bhd.
i dunno how Dayana will act as an older sister when her sibling pops out later. i cleaned the baby car seat last weekend and she was so into trying to get herself seated in it (we don't have a toddler car seat for her, sungguh kedekut her parents ok huhu). in the end decided to get herself stuck in her bumbo seat (which i am glad i didn't end up selling before). am planning to get a tandem stroller for the two kiddos just in case a 'somebody' decides to get jealous, a very special thanks to that very nice person who's currently holding one for us =). i've already prepped most of the baby stuff for the arrival of the new squishy, minus a few things like the baby cot and its accessories. i'm trying my best to go minimal this time, but i can't help feeling like i 'want' some stuff instead of actually 'needing' them =P don't we always?
bile mau sale ini??? saya mau:
- safety plus thermometer
- nail clipper for the new bub
- comforter set
- zoie <- -="" an="" dayana="P<br" elmo="" envirosax="" for="" my="" wants="">- taggies!
- kissaluvs and thirsties duo (waiting for the right moment)
- nursing tops - i have 3 in mind
- still surveying nursing bras for mini-me
i noticed that recently Dayana loves to speak and her words with '-la' (ala-ala chinese speaking). like: "nak elmo-la" "ade-la" i dunno where she got it from. even my parents were wondering the same thing. hahaha. there's a short cartoon skit on Playhouse Disney called Boowa & Kwala where one of the character would always end sentences with -la? but Dayana's not a big fan of the show. her Daddy says it's because she's got chinese blood in her *roll eyes*.
she's getting really naughty these days up to the point that i've already lost my temper on a few occassions, sigh. probably because i'm irritated that i'm always feeling tired and heavy most of the time. 'belat', in Dayana's words. lol.
is anyone out there interested in property investment? Significant Other is a huge fan. we went for a property expo the weekend before and we got complimentary tickets to attend a talk by Milan Doshi held at Cititel MidValley last Saturday night. i've heard him speak at an expo in MidValley recently in May and i really enjoyed his talk (some speakers tend to drone on and on until i fall asleep). according to him, you can actually retire within the next 5 years by just accumulating about 3 million in loans, haha. tak percaya? he's done it. he's happy. why not you?
now imagine - even at 36 weeks, i was dragged to the never-miss PC-fair event on Sunday, lol. luckily Ashu was around to relieve us of Dayana, so it was only just the two of us (malas wanna enlist the maid's help, she isn't much of a multitasking person, sigh). it was rather late when we arrived at the fair, the crowd wasn't really body-to-body as i would have expected it to be (which was a real plus to me).
i bought an external harddisk, my current one has exceeded its limit and i need space to store photos of Dayana and the otw-squishy. Significant Other bought more RAM, thumbdrives (with bigger storage limit, i am jealous that his new pqi thumbdrive is really cute =P), and an Apacer player that can play different types of file formats (this was not in his original list).
->
ok i'm signing off now. to those who are expecting parcels from me, i apologize for not sending them on Saturday, TM Unifi camped out the whole day at my house (and unfortunately with very little progress) so i wasn't able to snake away earlier. i'll try to get them posted out by the week end, okay? thank you for understanding - i hope!

antenatal class at DEMC
the new DEMC building
i dragged Significant Other to antenatal class last Sunday =P. ok so i'm a second timer so you're surely asking, buat apa mau pigi??? well i missed registering for class the first time because the slots were full, so i was determined to go for class this time round, despite already going through pregnancy and delivery =D. DEMC antenatal rates were quite reasonable for a 1-day course compared to others (some classes spanned into different sessions on different days and didn't provide meals even =P. but probably the classes were more extensive, hence the price difference?).
the night before we went for a movie marathon at GSC Midvalley - 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' and 'Inception'. was really irritated with the ticketing kiosk there - there were two kiosks but it seemed that neither one was functioning. had to waste time queueing up to collect tickets at the Gold Class counter (which defeats the purpose of purchasing tickets online = wasting my time queueing!) that i missed the first 10 minutes of my movie =(. and i thought TGV's ticketing system was bad. i guess the only branch i don't have issues with is GSC One Utama (but then again, i haven't watched movies at One Utama for quite a while, so i beg to differ).
hmmm, since i'm already hyped up on the subject, i might as well add that i paling benci when people queue up at the GOld Class/ticket collection counter (which is supposed to be strictly for ticket collection, he-loo) but then i notice they end up spending a long time at the counter choosing their seats lah, contemplating this lah, that lah, as if they baru mau purchase tickets for the first time. i mean, tolong lah. it's really irritating ok, the purpose of the line is to PICK UP tickets. what's the point of me purchasing online if i still have to wait aeons just to pick up my tickets??? grrrr.
my sungguh-tak-puas-hati verdict:
TGV is stupid that they don't provide ticketing kiosks for easy pickup.
GSC is stupid that they didn't even bother to check whether their existing ticketing kiosks were functioning or not.
oh and btw, both of your corn-in-cup tastes stale. nelson's sedap lagi!
'Inception' is not bad a movie. you need to churn your brain cells a bit, but definitely a must-watch.
ergh, i'm off topic already. i'm supposed to tell you about my antenatal class, haha. so anyway, after the movie marathon we reached home at almost 3.30am and had only maanged to get a couple of hours of sleep before we had to get ready for the class which started at 8.30am. i was sooo happy Significant Other agreed to accompany me that day. DEMC is no longer at Section 9, they relocated to Section 14, but still very near to the house so i don't have to worry about getting stuck in traffic on the way to the hospital if i ever were to suddenly go into labor =P.
i think there were about 26 couples registered for the class? a pair of them were even Doctors. mostly were first timers, but they all seemed to be so much older than me. i decided to stay low profile when the presenter asked if it was our first time being pregnant or not, lol. breakfast, tea breaks and lunch were provided.
the antenatal class was divided into sections (in my own words):
- healthy eating during pregnancy
- the delivery process
- pain relief during labor
- newborn care
- successful breastfeeding
- relaxation techniques during labor and exercises
after taking the class, i think i feel that i was much better off not knowing what to expect. hahahahahaha. i didn't know that there were soo many types of complications that could happen during delivery. i wasn't offered any pain relief option during my first delivery save for the gas which to me didn't feel as if there were any difference haha. epidural seemed much to complicated for my liking either. most of the topics that were presented i already knew, save for the last topic which i hope is gonna be useful when i go into labor later. i already knew which topic Significant Other would be most interested in, funny how they conveniently slotted that topic right after lunch =P.
they even gave us a tour of the labour room and wards, something i was also looking forward to. me and Significant Other were interested in getting a single room with ample space for visitors and family to sit comfortably in after i deliver (although i doubt i'd get many visitors this time, since confirm it'll be fasting month by that time). my previous room at the old DEMC building was soo cramped it had only 2 chairs for the guest so the rest had to stand, sungguh tak hospitable langsung haha. as with new hospital comes new rates - the single room is now priced at rm185 per night as compared to the old rate of rm150, huhu. they even had other more expensive rooms as well, ranging from rm400 to rm600 to rm1k+... some included rooms furnished to a theme i.e. japanese, english :O i was like, wow, kalah hotel! heck i don't think i'll even have time to appreciate my surroundings, i'd be too busy recuperating from the exhausting birthing process to be even enjoying the room in the first place, haha.
the wards were rather quiet that day, not much people running about. perhaps it's a sunday? (musykil i haha).
after lunch we were given a quick quiz just to see how well our spouse knew us. obviously we failed, Significant Other got my primary school wrong, as well as some other measurements like my height and waist size, lol (by 1cm each! chis). there was one question asking what the wife's hobby was, the presenter mentioned that most of the husbands answered 'sleeping', ahhahahahahah. but you know what? i won one of the lucky draw prizes. wauwee...! ME, who has never even been lucky in any form of lucky draw, won something that day =D. first time! yay! yay! *syiok sendiri*.
my first lucky draw ever!!! even if it isn't much, but still =D
well, that's about it. now if only i can remember the breathing and excercise techniques they taught me in class that day. i predict that during labor time, everything that i learnt and remember would simply fly out the window, hahahahaha.
that night after the class i finally got around to preparing my hospital bag, lix kept saikoing me that it'll be any day now despite having a month+ to go to me EDD (she delivered at 34 weeks, huhu). i'll be entering 35 weeks and i still feel like i'm not prepared to deliver. i wonder how i did it last time. i don't think i even rememeber my last month before i deliver. this time around, i am often tired and get rib ache + back ache, and have successfully managed to lose my appetite.
i secretly can't wait to get off work =P.

baby #2 checklist
i've been procrastinating. but i guess i better list the items that i need to get within the next couple of months before i pop. good thing is, i get to recycle some of the stuff i bought with baby #1. bad thing is, some of the items on my list are mainly to satisfy my WANTS, kekekekeke.
my previous list for baby #1 was here. now i've revised the list (only because i've grown a bit wiser as to what's useful, what isn't so - konon, haha). things that i don't need to get - because i already have them - will be greyed out for my reference.
apparel: Dayana has a bunch of gender neutral outfits (at the time i was superstitious and didn't get anything in pink, most of Dayana's pink outfits were gifts from the fil =P) so majority of the clothes for baby #2 will be hand-me-downs (unless i can escape to the nearest department store to buy a bunch of new ones lol. i'm a cheapskate. i don't buy MC outfits until the baby is older, huhu).
..6-8 long sleeves/short sleeves
..onesies + pants
..5 stretchy sleepsuits
..1-2 hats
..mittens and booties
..socks
..1-2 receiving blankets
..dress-up outfits
..laundry detergent
..muslin squares (i don't care i want new fresh white ones haha)
nursery: most of the stuff will be recycled. i get to save alot here.

..mattress (latex or foam)
..waterproof bedpads
..blankets - Mothercare (Dayana made them her security blankets. tsk. next baby needs to get attached to something much smaller!)
..pillow and bolster (contemplating looking for a better pillow)
..dresser bin (i don't have space for baby #2's stuff!!!)
..baby bouncer - to assemble
..baby mobile - to assemble
bathing: i have a lot to learn in this department.
..bath tub (a stand would be nice tp malas lah. i got no space at the house for a stand)
..bath seat for mommy
..6-8 wash cloths (preferably a more softer one on the skin. borong cloth wipes ok tak?)
..baby body wash and shampoo - Buds
..hooded bathtowels - 3
..baby powder and lotion/oil - EMAB
..soft bristle hair brush
..medicine dropper / syringe
..nasal aspirator
..nail clipper (i need a new sharper one)
..baby thermometer (Safety Plus)
..changing mat
..top & tail bowl
.. a container to hold all these bath items =D
diapering: again, depends on your preference on what you need.
..baby wipes

..kissaluvs =P
..scented plastic bag for soiled diapers (travel use - i still have a bunch of these left, sayang nak guna)
..drapolene baby rash cream + EMAB (thanks Sarah!)
..cotton balls + container
..gripe water
feeding essentials: i can just go bankrupt in this department.
..milk storage containers & liners
..bottles and teats - avent bpa
..bottle brush - avent
..sterilizer - tommee tippee (thanks so much Auntie 'Enn'!)
..breast pump
..breast pads
..pacifier
..bottle/food warmer
..bibs
..burp cloths (borong more cloth wipes! =D)
..bottle drying rack
..ice packs
..breastpump bag (or maybe i can get someone to fix the lining... hmmm)

..travel changing mat + megoriginal
..diaper bag - to fix avent zipper
..mattress - snugglenest?

..maternity or nursing bras
..maternity pads (sudah banyak cloth pads. but i guess i should buy some dispo just in case)
..sarong
..nursing tops

my previous list for baby #1 was here. now i've revised the list (only because i've grown a bit wiser as to what's useful, what isn't so - konon, haha). things that i don't need to get - because i already have them - will be greyed out for my reference.
apparel: Dayana has a bunch of gender neutral outfits (at the time i was superstitious and didn't get anything in pink, most of Dayana's pink outfits were gifts from the fil =P) so majority of the clothes for baby #2 will be hand-me-downs (unless i can escape to the nearest department store to buy a bunch of new ones lol. i'm a cheapskate. i don't buy MC outfits until the baby is older, huhu).

jumpsacbaby Bali!

i can't get this out of my head now. me wants one!!!
does this mean i have to go to Bali? =D =D =D
get one of your own at Jumpsac!
ok ok enough with my cravings. i've been craving for The Ship's spaghetti & spinach but apparently Significant Other didn't get the hint *hmph*. so better i satisfy my other cravings of a different kind =P. me is suddenly thinking of getting another hotsling. and a diaper bag. and goodness knows what else.
i've slimmed my wrap stash down to 5. yay!
i wore Dayana to Tesco with my CJ the other day and i'm thinking i'm going to hold on to it for a little longer. silk is supportive! just the abit too long tail bothers me a bit.
things i've been eating alot of lately:
- magnum almond. i suddenly have cravings for vanilla. nyum nyum.
- chilli sauce. suddenly tomato sauce just don't cut it anymore
my weight hasn't increased at all much. tsk. and i'm already heading into my 20th week. one look at me and you think i'm lying about my pregnancy. until now i can still fit into my jeans. haha.

autumn's getting a summer
so as most of you know, little autumn is getting a summer. i didn't think it would be that easy to decipher, but oh well =P.
before dayana was born, i used to fondly refer to her as autumn. so one of my status messages then was 'autumn in september', because her EDD was supposed to be in the middle of September. somehow she heard daddy's wish and came out a couple of weeks earlier, exactly a day after we finished assembling her cot. lol.
second time around, the EDD is about a week before dayana's. and it kinda sounded tak cun if i were to label this one as another autumn ('autumn's getting an autumn' sungguh tak menarik perhatian kan? kan?). since i had a big feeling that this one would be another august baby (that's 3 augustus versus 1 november in the family! egad!), i decided to label this one as summer for the fun of it. heehee. so that's just my little story behind the seasons thingy.
anyway, i'm the superstitious type, so i wasn't into breaking the big news yet, spare a few of them. but in the end i couldn't resist =P. besides, as of today i'm only about 2 months along, and that's nothing compared to those already in their second trimester. and i found out not on my doing, but during the medical checkup that i had to take. haha. previously when i thought my cycle was out of whack i wasted rm20+ on two test kits only to get negative results. so this time around? i didn't bother checking =P. hence, my surprise -.-.
was it planned? i was on Noriday for a couple of months before i got lazy and decided to ditch it altogether (i also got my P right after i took it, but as soon as i ditched it my P didn't come back until 6 months after Dayana was born). i was actually ok with the pregnancy since the gap between the kids would be 2 years. Significant Other was a wee bit more excited than me at breaking the news to everyone, haha. we're a bit financially worried though. which is why i am where i am right now. hopefully since i'm now in a remote area (compared to where i was formerly, where everything IS under the sun), i reduce spenditure and hopefully save more (and pay off my loan sharks faster!).
this time around, the feeling is totally different. with dayana i had a very happy pregnancy - great appetite, nada morning sickness, clear complexion, energetic feeling, luscious hair, sugar, spice and everything nice!
so for this time around, i have:
- too much gas in my body (hahahahahahha)
- limp hair. now i feel like cutting it short to put me out of my misery.
- gatal kulit everywhere! even the old itches are acting up again :S *cry*
- no mood to eat. eat only to fulfill the requirements of alas perut.
- instead of morning sickness, i get evening sickness. that's when i totally lose my mood to eat. i'm just lucky i haven't thrown up yet, just the feeling of wanting to throw up.
- water tastes yucky. because of this my water intake has decreased =(
- i lost my mood in babywearing ever since i started feeling feeling lousy.
- susceptible to sickness. i'm currently nursing a bad cough and asthma! (Drs out there, is it okay for me to use my inhaler?)
- i'm tired most of the time (ok, last time pun i was equally as sleepy so i guess this doesn't really count). i just wish that Somebody would understand just how tired i really am. hmph!
i told dayana there was a baby in my tummy and she looked at me as if i were crazy because as far as she knows, there's only your belly button there. haha. so here's to me looking forward to the next 7 months. i'm not sure if i'm even ready to relive my experience or not. despite being a fun journey before, i am so not looking forwarad to all the body aches and tiredness that will surely ensue. but i'm lucky i don't have a reason to take ktm anymore!
i just realized i've been neglecting to write about Dayana in my blog, haven't i? huhu. she's at my mom's this week, going through/browsing/exploring everything in the house i expect =P

37th week
1. vhe deployed for uat. wee~ finally! waiting for bugs and defects. moving on to idd. ta to go.
2. went for checkup on Monday. Baby refuses to show face, even after Dr's gentle prodding. hasn't engaged =.= even after 36 weeks. need to return for another checkup next week. Dr mentioned that during the ultrasound scan Baby gave her a thumbs up sign. wahahahahha. EFW is ~2.3kg. not a bad increase from last month's checkup. loss of appetite lately. mommy's legs turn to jelly each time climbing up a flight of stairs, means you're getting bigger and mommy's getting tired of carrying you around, lol. though mommy's gonna miss the feeling of Baby moving inside her later.
3. congratulations 'auntie' nedd! shame didn't get to take a one-on-one photo with you. so i guess i'm gonna hafta 'curiek' some from the cousin collection later. sakit-sakit oso still managed to go =P i was determined not to miss it although i didn't have much of an appetite. the relatives were very concerned ("shouldn't you be resting at home instead of being up and about?" lol). unfortunately at 9 months i cannot fit a single sarong of my baju kurungs (my thighs have become fattttt warrgghhh) so i wore a kain batik instead. i was lucky that the color of the batik matched my top prefectly so no one noticed anything out of the ordinary. heehee. anyhoo, here's one of the cute cousin clan, who as far as i know are all still single and available =P cam-whoring at nedd's lovely wedding. see my bump? =P at this stage it should be pretty obvious that i'm pregnant T_T

the beginning of the end
it's Sunday and i'm in the office... working. how bizarre is that? the last time i ever did OT was about 2 years ago. a whole bunch of us are here, working round the clock to meet the deadline. i'm just worried i won't have time to finish everything i need to do before Baby comes. any time now...
had sensations of false contractions last Friday night -.- couldn't sleep at all and ended up missing Nedd's nikah ceremony. even starting to lose appetite. wishing i can transfer all the pain to Significant Other, now wouldn't that be nice =P.
the office is as hot and stuffy as an oven!!! wishing i had a usb fan now. meltingggggg...

week 36
finished up most of Baby shopping already. now need to think of where to store them in an organized fashion, they're taking up alot of space in my room (which is why i'm looking for a storage box of the sort). have a bunch of washing to do, and i haven't even packed my hospital bag yet. not that i even know the proper procedures of what i should do when one wants to give birth in the first place. at this rate i might end up giving birth in the streets. hahahaha. according to lilypie, i only have more or less 30 days to go!
received some lovely Baby presents from relatives. father-in-law got us a stroller from mothercare, brought back all the way from UK. Significant Other's aunt from the States gave us a bunch of cute rompers for Baby to wear. even sister-in-law was generous. she came back from UK with quite a number of things: a bunch of rompers for Baby (looks like Baby will have plenty to wear later on =P), as well as some baby bottles from mothercare. oh, and a sterilizer too! how nice is that! i now have plenty of bottles. lol. munira even gave me a nice fluffy blankie for Baby. i loike =D. but i hafta mention that my first ever Baby present was actually from my junior, given to me as a wedding present last December. haha =P
my wishlist is 'functioning' perfectly. ended up buying absolutely nothing from the list. except that i substituted the bag for an MNG cream top. though it was quite pricey, i loved it anyways. blame my colleague for making me wait too long while she tried on a dress (which she ended up buying, heehee). i was all ready to make it out of the store empty handed when the top caught my eye. hahahaha =P
need to clear out my workload before i take leave of absence. not only do i have my current stream to finish up (what with its defects and such) i only realized that i have another 2 more streams assigned to my name, each with its own teeny-weeny deadline. crazy, i tell you. the good part is we get to claim overtime on weekends. the bad part is at this stage, i'm too tired to even come to the office on weekends just to claim overtime. vpn-ning from home is no fun either. even a snail is faster than the connection.
what i want right now is to stop time so i can catch up on my sleep and finish up my work since i get back aches easily if i sit at my desk too long. sleeping is a bit of a problem now as i can't get myself into a comfortable position in bed anymore (switching positions and getting up from bed alone takes up most of my energy haha). it's 7.30pm and i'm still in the office. how hebat is that? i wish to teleport home!!!
p/s. my license expires next week. has it been that long already???

my Baby!

cute tak =P Baby is now weighing about 1.4kg. that's still too light though. can't wait for the arrival of you =*> although i still got about a million things to settle beforehand. haiz...
gonna watch The Dark Knight this weekend. a friend of mine loved the movie to bits. we'll see. half of the cinema was already unavailable when i was purchasing my tickets online. i better watch all the movies that i can before the big D-day comes, i probably won't have my quality time after that.
tomorrow Significant Other's going for a preliminary eye test at Optimax. he plans to laser his eyes back into 2020 vision. haha. apparently i know three people who had already done it by that very same company, with very positive results (my Aunt, my cousin's soon-to-be husband, and my friend's boyfriend, who is surely looking 'hawt' by now =P). i wanna do it, but i'm unable to do so at the moment =(. anyway, one of the branches is having an offer, so might as well check it out while it still lasts. lasik is definitely not cheap. and so is braces, for that matter. i asked a junior how much he did his, he said back then it was about 3k+, but recently his sister did hers for 4k+. OMG. anyway, think about it. i'd be able to wear my sunnies without having to poke my eye just to insert my contacts (which i despice wearing, btw). you should've seen Significant Other trying to poke his own eyes out. 20 minutes passed and still no success (HAHA). but first we gotta go check to see if our eyes are compatible. my cousin's wasn't the last time she checked. i hope mine is *prays hard* =P
Significant Other has some dinner function tonight and he told me he'd be going for tennis until 2am. goodness knows what court actually opens in the wee hours of the night (or morning? T_T). undecided what i'd be having for dinner. recently my brother-in-law introduced me to instant onion flavored Roti Paratha, which he bought from Tesco. not bad actually. you just warm it up on the pan, and then voila! enjoy it with kuah Dahl that you can buy from the kedai mamak. quite nice actually. but i'm lazy to make the stop on my way home. hurmm...

i can has backpain
yep... i'm starting to ache all over now. i think i've gained summore pounds since the last time i visited the Gynae. so i'm feeling the 'pull' of gravity now each time i trek up the stairs *huff puff wheeze*. bringing a pillow to office also seems useless, cause i'm still getting back and rib pains. i can't sit still now. i'm starting to blame this seat i'm sitting in. i'm in my 31st week now =D how fast time flies... (and i'm sooo not yet ready to become a mom).
i bought my pillow at Ikea that was a bit on the pricey side (which made me regret buying it. but then again i'd feel weird bringing a gigantic size pillow to office. people might think i come to work to sleep! haha). after paying my bills at Uptown yesterday i drove to Ikea for a solo dinner (Significant Other had a Dinner thingo so it was just me and Baby). so i got to eat my Daim cake, along with Swedish meatballs =) yummylicious! and brought home with me a desktop mirror, the abovementioned pillow and two curry puffs, lol.
last week, out of the blue, Significant Other bought me a new watch. it's a 2004 model, but i love it all the same =*> thanks hunny~ at the moment i can't fit into my GMS Casio which i bought during my Bangkok trip last year, unless i adjust the metal straps (which i'm lazy to do so). the last time Significant Other bought me a watch was as a present on my 23rd birthday, a pink Guess watch that i've always been eyeing but never had the chance to get it for myself. unfortunately evil theives broke into my aunt's place where i was staying at the time and the watch was one of the casualties, sob.

my new Swatch =)
i like my work now. probably because i'm now in a new project, so i guess you could say it's like starting on a clean slate =D however i'm still supporting my previous client, so i'm not yet totally out of the woods yet. at least my mood is improving. and no more credit card spending either. although recently i just paid for my car insurance and that practically sets it in stone that i'm broke for the month of July, haha (owh crap. which reminds me - did i set aside a small amount for my road tax? cheese!).
one thing though... where has my June payslip disappeared to???? i've already turned the drawers in my office upside down looking for it (and chucking old junk into the dustbin, clearing out unwanted rubbish along the way, hohoho). sigh. i hate it when i misplace things. i just hope that darn piece of paper will turn up somewhere sooner or later.
ETA: found the payslip amongst a bunch of papers whilst cleaning out my office desk in January 2010 lolz.

week 26 Baby & Life progress
progress in the 26th week:
1. Baby is getting more active now, the timing not as consistent like a few weeks back when it was usually during lunchtime and dinnertime. this also means i'm getting less amount of sound sleep at night, and you can't even get into a comfortable sleeping position anymore. sigh.
2. i get tired easily climbing up a flight of stairs, although i have no trouble going down =P
3. at times the tummy can feel a bit itchy, even scratch unconsciously in my sleep... a big no no 'cause when i wake up, my whole tummy looks a similar shade to a lobster, haiz. a friend suggested wearing baby mittens at night... one for each finger (think Edward mitten-hands! muahahahahah). ointment and Bio Oil becomes a newfound best friend.
4. skin shrivelling up like a snake! the horrors! need to increase water intake... more dependent on the trusty Bio Oil now...
5. can still drive a car (which means i can still reach the steering wheel and the pedals, haha)
6. occasional rib aches, back aches and leg cramps when i sit in my chair like a cinapek at the office (gotta improve on my sitting posture, gwahhh)
7. appetite is still good. sometimes even when i think i'm not hungry, when given food i will wolf down everything as if i haven't eaten in two weeks. hahah.
8. last month Dr mentioned to us the Gender of the baby. but from the reactions i get from people around me, they were like, oooooh, from the shape of your tummy, it looks like a *****! (which is a total opposite from what Dr had told me) and i'm like, really? you think so? and people seem to think that i'm only 3-4 months pregnant -.- now i'm starting to doubt whether the Dr was right or not. another checkup this month should reconfirm, then later i can start on Baby shopping!!! on the safe side, better to get everything in neutral colors (although if it's a girl, i can gets lots and lots of pinkkkkkkkkkk!!!!)
9. am starting to go nuts over Baby stuff. all my colleague's fault. she was telling me Baby stuff was on sale... a department i had never EVER set foot into. now i think i set foot in there every day. it's true what they say. you have no interest in the Baby section until you have one of your own. you can just go crazy over everything from the cute little outfits to the canggih manggih Avent bottle set. i just hope the sales people haven't recognized me yet as 'the crazy shopper who comes every day but ends up buying nothing'.
10. need to get things for 'Mommy' too. and they too are expensive. i'm starting to feel like a penguin now. i really should take a picture of me while i'm preggie. it's not often you see me all roundish in the tummy. haha. my friend said i look like a school kid with a watermelon under my shirt. cheese...
11. i hate my maternity jeans. it keeps on sliding down and i keep hafta pull them back up. i got cheated by the saleslady at Modern Mum!!! come to think of it, i haven't even bought a single maternity outfit for myself save for my two favorite pants i bought at Jusco at a reasonable price, only because i can't fit into my favorite jeans anymore =(. i still wear my empire tops, but i definitely can't fit my kebaya's anymore, waaaaa. i need to get an outfit for a couple of weddings in August. what do pregnant people wear to weddings? my bras don't fit me anymore either, but i bought some extenders to help with that (i am soooo not gonna waste my $$$ on buying new expensive bras okayyy). oh and i bought a pair of Crocs to wear everywhere (even to the office =P).
12. they say pregnant people get more clumsier due to the shift of your centre of gravity, or whatever they call it. like i said, think Penguin. oh, and they suffer from short term memory loss.
13. the past month my colleagues say i have this glow around me. is it because of the Baby - pregnancy glow? or is it because i had just started using my new Bobbi Brown compact foundation and pressed powder? lol. starting to look more rounder in the face too. they say it's a good thing, that i don't look skinnier as before. and to me, that's good. i just hope whatever 'appropriate' parts of my body that fills out, stays filled!
i think that's enough of my rambling for now. i've gotta look into this problem my client is facing at the moment, something about how files are not being distributed downstream. and everything is urgent. what's not urgent in life? so i'll probably tapau lunch in a bit. i have no idea what to tapau except for nasi ayam (comfort food!!!), which i've already tapaued like, a few times in the past week already.
i soooo wish i hadn't been so reckless with my credit card spending during me bachelor years.
