first day in the new year

so how was your first day of 2012? in my effort to not let my funds trickle away like water, i decided to spend the whole day at home.

uh. utter boredom. i felt like pulling my hair out.

i contemplated dragging the kids to the zoo, but somehow for the past two days the weather was pretty hot hot hot (as if those storms and flash floods were a distant memory) and i didn't want to end up spending the day with a couple of cranky kids. i was also nursing a horrible sore throat yesterday (Significant Other took the whole Fisherman's Friend stash with him to lgk) and am now nursing a running nose T__T so i definitely did not want to go anywhere today, despite the need to get Dayana some sensible shoes for her school term.

no, she is definitely not wearing her bling bling shoes to school T_T.

i wanted to go somewhere (ANYWHERE!) but unfortunately got noone to teman me. hahah. funny how when i have no time, ade je orang ajak jalan left right and centre... and vice versa? =P

i didn't get a single personal New Year's message on my phone, 'cept for one. everyone is now resorting to post a message on their own wall expecting people to read it and 'get the message'. lol.

i spent counting down the New Year in my sleep. and then spent 3 hours on Skype.

grrr... Dayana is currently standing on the chair i'm sitting on, disturbing my creative juices and singing to Beauty & The Beast's Enchanted Christmas on wmp T_T.

so what did i do today? i decided to try my hand at fixing the kids's chest of drawers that decided to roboh a few weeks ago due to over-stuffing each drawer with clothes to the brim, all three tiers (note: i now dislike Ikea furniture). it didn't help that the drawers were designed in such a way that they will only open up to a certain extent, i couldn't pull out the drawer all the way from the frame. and i didn't want to force it because i was afraid i'd end up destroying everything, haha. i sooo do not have the funds to get the kids a new chest of drawers. i'd rather get them a kid couch instead.

where's Handy Manny when you need him?

Dayana is now prancing around the hallway singing an indistinguishable song, btw.

i repaired the drawers using some industrial glue i had lying around the house. despite its guarantee that it'll be able to bond any form of material, i'm still skeptic. sil came over and volunteered to help drive nails into the drawers so they won't fall apart again. so... now i just need to get some nails. and wait for her to drop by the house again, lol.

today she introduced me to Won Bin. i still don't know who that is.

tomorrow if i'm in the mood i need to lower Dinara's cot to the lowest level. she's beginning to clamber up things for exercise purposes. pantang nampak orang baring joli on the floor, she will sneak up on you, clamber onto you and ride you like a horse, think rodeo.

sigh. Dayana has hijacked my compact powder and insists she wants to wear makeup at ten o'clock at night.

aku nk tido dik oiiii... nak pi clubbing ke malam2 neh??

i washed my hair today. my last best hair day was on Friday *ahem* so now that my hair has started to sport that flat greasy look that i hate, it's up for a fresh wash. i don't wash my hair everyday, btw. i like my hair best when my natural hair oils come in, squeaky clean is too... squeaky. and unmanageable.

btw, don't watch 'Darkest Hour' at the movies, alright? the trailer was soOoO misleading.

so... that's my report of day One. you can press the 'X' button on the top right of the window now. i promise i won't be mad.
