my hospital checklist

no contractions, nothing. just the occasional push on the bladder that makes me want to frequently visit the toilet on an half-hourly basis, lol.

stiletos sudah beranak. ntah2 the mamas i chatted with in the DA forums pun sudah beranak (the thread itu suddenly sunyi sepi... lol). so now i'm waiting for my turn - 13 days to go. in 2008 13 days before my due date i'd have already delivered Dayana. i guess this one wants to stay in the oven a bit longer. i guess i can happily say that this one will be another Virgo, yay!

right after attending the antenatal class at DEMC last month, i decided to start packing my hospital bag - but i think my plan terbengkalai half way, incompleted - i didn't want to bring too many things to the hospital, half of which might deem useless like last time, hoho. besides, since we live nearby i could always ask Significant Other to fetch anything i terforgot to bring. some of the minor stuff - toiletries mostly - i haven't packed yet. and i was thinking whether i need to bring along my breastpump too. i didn't want to bring too many bags either.

but the problem of packing early is, i already forgotten what i stuffed into my bag. and i'm the type that really stuffs everything in - if i choose to unpack the bag, chances are i'll never get the stuff to fit back in again, lol.

anyway, here's my new hospital bag checklist. i realized i never made one last time, so here's my new list for reference:

1.My stuff:
Toiletry bag <- to stuff *necessities in
Undies - 3
Socks - 1
Nursing cover - 1
Cloth pads - 3
Disposable pads - 6
Nursing bras - 2
Bedroom slippers -
Plastic bag for dirty clothes -
Going home outfit - brown pants & blue nursing top
Bath towel - 1 <- just in case they still don't provide towels, even with the upgrade, i still think they don't
Black nightgown - to pack
Nursing tops - 2
Kain batik - 2

*my toiletries:
Shampoo,
shower cream,
lotion,
tootbrush + toothpaste,
facial wash,
sikat,
face powder,
lip balm,
camera
phones & cable / charger

2. For Baby:
Baju to wear home + hat
Receiving blankie
Cloth wipes / towel (just in case)
*previously everything was provided by the hospital until the moment you get discharged from the hospital

3.Medela breastpump <- just in case

that's it. for now. hehe. i'm craving Carl's Jr's classic burger right now. i prefer CJ over BK any day =D. had it at the Pavilion last weekend, and now i can't get it out of my system... arrgghhh

Unifi service sucks

yesterday i officially blew up at TM Unifi on the phone. wanna know why?

- march: received invitation from Unifi for a free trial version of the service. a technician came over to survey the infrastructure, informed us that they would revert back for further instructions. they never did.

- end may: after waiting like nobody's business, decided to put in an order anyway to upgrade to Unifi. told me the free trial version offer had already expired, we would need to subscribe to the service. so fine, put in an order for VIP20.

- Unifi technicians did an evaluation on the house + area, mentioned that the underground cabling in my area tersumbat (whatever that means) and that they needed to address the issue first before being able to come back to us for installation. called them up occasionally to enquire on updates but the answer was always the same: technicians were still looking into it, but were unavailable to comment on the actual cause at that point of time.

- end June: after no news from them (as usual), called them up to ask about the status, they said they were currently upgrading Unifi services so was unable to check for updates, so i'm like, fine, when you're done, give me a call to update, ok? (they never did)

- July: world cup season came and went. still no update from them. grrr

- end July: called Unifi to enquire about the status, out of the blue they said we could set an appointment for a whole-day installation at the house (but when i asked them about the underground cabling status and why it took so long for them to settle the issue, they never gave me a conclusive answer as if they were purposely avoiding the subject). so fine, we fixed an installation slot for august 7th. at this time i was so irritated by the long wait i told them i wanted to subscribe to their VIP10 instead. thought everything would be smooth sailing after this - yeah, rite.

- august 7th: technicians came, spent a whole day at the house, end up nothing was done, due to what you know ----> due to the technicians not having the necessary equipment to complete the installation *#&(*@&#^$&*. and the funny part was, they came thinking that we already had a trial version of Unifi installed and thought they only needed to do tweaking. wth? WTH??? they told Significant Other they would get back to us within a week to follow-up.

- 2 weeks later, still no news. so yesterday i called them up again and practically blew up at Unifi through the phone for their pathetic service. i mean can you believe putting in an official order in May (technically the whole problem started in March) and until now no results have been achieved!? i put in a upgrade for Astro Beyond the same time i called Unifi and at least that one was succsessfully installed before the World Cup started. it seems that Unifi doesn't bother acquiring new customers pun. TSK!

after blowing up at the lady on the phone did i recieve a phone call not long after that from the technician requesting to set an appointment to continue the installation. see how 'efficient' these people are? it's like i have to practically BEG them to come and install Unifi at my house. benciiiiiiiiiiii. and itupun even though i've set the appointment for next weekend (another whole-day installation, another day due to be wasted?) i have no confidence that everything will be settled by then. mark my words la. ade je alasan they'll give for not wanting to do their job properly. another day wasted at home waiting for them to complete their job. you cannot imagine the expenses i had to incur (phone-bill wise), wasting my time (you can go crazy listening to their stupid theme song while being put on hold for dunno how many times while they check with this/that department).

it's not that i want to be mad at them, but it's their fault for pissing off a pregnant lady in the first place.

BONGOK LAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

TM Unifi, i hope your service is worth it. i mean, REALLY worth it.

my little piiizzy wonder

my magic wonder sudah pandai request for 'kroi-yons' whenever she sees stationery - her own word for crayons. lol. however i think she's more interested in the crayon box than the crayons itself. she'll dump all 12 crayons onto the floor and run off with the box, hahaha. if she isn't distracted she'll sit for a few good minutes scribbling on a piece of paper, then that's it. i have yet to figure out if she's a lefty or a righty. i read somewhere that if you're a lefty, chances are you could've been part of a twin set while in the womb. i dunno if that's true or not though.

crayola crayola rock!

i've finally managed to teach Dayana to say please when she wants something. before this she'd usually just imitate what we say without knowing its significance, like when we tell her to say 'thank you mommy' or say 'bye bye daddy'. but recently she's smartening up on how to use the word 'please' in her favor. whenever she wants something and we don't immediately or refuse to give it to her, she'll go all puppy-eyed on us and say in that on-purpose innocent tone of hers, 'piiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzz?'. benci. we end up giving in to her request almost 90% of the time, especially the Daddy. haha. he requested me to open a post entitled 'a piiiiizzz you cannot resist'. lol.

pliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzzz?

unfortunately, when we use the 'piiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzz' tactic on her, she simply ignores us. chis.

Dayana's favorite word these days is 'TANNAK'. TANNAK this, TANNAK that, semua TANNNAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK... @_@. it's getting more difficult to get her to agree with us these days.

she likes to kacau Kakak (the maid) by asking her 'kakak bakpe???' (kakak buat apa?) lol. haiz. most of the words that comes out of her mouth these days are usually Malay.

so far puasa month has been gentle on me and the baby, despite the heaty mornings and the rainy evenings. but i can feel myself tiring out easily from walking/standing too long. i still face traffic on the way home from work, but am secretly glad that i don't have to face the horrible 1.5hr puasa traffic rush from KL like last time. the funny thing is, when i reach home early i'm out of ideas of what to do while waiting to buka puasa, lol. before this i'd usually reach home within minutes before buka puasa (see? it's in our nature to complain about every single thing, hahahaha).

far has shared great information on her blog about fasting/breastfeeding during pregnancy. my parents and Significant Other advised me against it with the interest of the baby in mind, but so far i've only missed one day due to me not being able to get any shut-eye Sunday night and ended up feeling really doozy throughout the day. i must remember to drink plenty of fluids though. probably when i'm nearing the due date i might not fast completely - lix has a point of saying that i needed the energy to push during labor later. haha. when you think of it, if you mention my due date it seems sooo far away, but when you put it this way: 16 days left to go, you realize isn't that far away :O *panic*

my parents will be going back for a few days to Terengganu next week since i happily spoiled their raya plans by deciding to give birth just a few days shy of raya (oops). and this will be my second time spending my raya in confinement, tsk. and mil wont be around until early September, so let's hope i don't go into labor before then. if not i'll rugi the nuzul quran holiday, hahahaahahhahaha. bah. i miss nasi minyak + nasi dagang + sata + keropok lekor + the yummilicious A&W kat tepi pantai Batu Burok =( how leh?

anyway, i finally went to Param for the first time yesterday since the start of puasa - i was determined to find nasi tomato (btw, i thought Param was a universally-understood word, shouldn't it be? but when i smsed my friend to ask about the best place to go for param, she replied by giving me a lengthy explanation on confinement kits - HAHAHAHAHAHHA). inspired by Aritha's recent blog entry, i decided to go on a budget too, so i ended up buying only the following:

- nasi tomato rm4.30
- keropok lekor rm2
- bihun rm2.50 <- for Dayana, she's a picky eater
- apamalek rm2
- air tebu rm2

twas weird that there was only one stall selling apamalek, but berlambak2 orang jual murtabak. peeeerggghh. everything i bought was wiped clean except for the apamalek (sungguh liat and tidak sedap) and the bihun which was only half finished. i had the nasi tomato for sahur, nyum nyum =D. sometimes susah jugak when you have too much to eat, if you know what i mean (but if you have nothing to eat lagi tak seronot =P). today going to Bangi for buka puasa, yay. Significant Other signed us up for a two-day Passive Income course at Westin over the weekend so got nobody to take care of the little one this weekend (thanks Ashu, more Bobob for you =P). i hope to drop by the Parenthood Expo fair at MV this weekend, i bought most of the essentials from theLilCaliph already, now hoping to cuci mata before i pop =P.

we're excited

i reached the 36th mark!!!! *cuak cuak*

i went for my routinal checkup last Saturday at demc. i thought i was the only one looking forward to this visit, but it looked like there was actually someone else who was more excited than me - my eldest. lol!

she was so excited to enter my gynae's room. said hi to everyone (only my gynae and nurse were in the room, btw), then started babbling away in her own language. whatever my gynae asked her, she gave a very descriptive answer as if she really knew what she was talking about. haha. she was excited as i was being prepped for the usual baby scan, even insisted to sit by me on the cramped bed and stare at awe at the monitor even if she didn't even know what the heck she was looking at. when my gynae asked her if she was talking in german, she happily agreed. haha. i don't even need to teach my daughter another language, apparently she already mastered a language on her own, keke...

on the other hand, baby #2 now weighs at 2.3kg. my gynae is optimistic that this little one will be slightly bigger than Dayana, seeing that i still have about ~4 weeks to go before i reach week 40. and even then i'm secretly hoping i deliver earlier - Dayana was born at week 38, 2 weeks earlier than her EDD. but so far i've only gained about 10 kilos compared to last time (i was my heaviest ever at 53.5kg haha), i think this baby is leeching all the nutrients from my system it's no wonder that people take one look at me and don't see any form of weight gain (except for my belly of course, sometimes i get scared looking at my big round tummy in the mirror hoho). i'm supposed to go for another checkup this week, but can i procrastinate and go for the next week instead? to pay about rm100 per visit is crying murder, especially when everything in my case is sdn. bhd.

i dunno how Dayana will act as an older sister when her sibling pops out later. i cleaned the baby car seat last weekend and she was so into trying to get herself seated in it (we don't have a toddler car seat for her, sungguh kedekut her parents ok huhu). in the end decided to get herself stuck in her bumbo seat (which i am glad i didn't end up selling before). am planning to get a tandem stroller for the two kiddos just in case a 'somebody' decides to get jealous, a very special thanks to that very nice person who's currently holding one for us =). i've already prepped most of the baby stuff for the arrival of the new squishy, minus a few things like the baby cot and its accessories. i'm trying my best to go minimal this time, but i can't help feeling like i 'want' some stuff instead of actually 'needing' them =P don't we always?

bile mau sale ini??? saya mau:
- safety plus thermometer
- nail clipper for the new bub
- comforter set
- zoie <- -="" an="" dayana="P<br" elmo="" envirosax="" for="" my="" wants="">- taggies!
- kissaluvs and thirsties duo (waiting for the right moment)
- nursing tops - i have 3 in mind
- still surveying nursing bras for mini-me

i noticed that recently Dayana loves to speak and her words with '-la' (ala-ala chinese speaking). like: "nak elmo-la" "ade-la" i dunno where she got it from. even my parents were wondering the same thing. hahaha. there's a short cartoon skit on Playhouse Disney called Boowa & Kwala where one of the character would always end sentences with -la? but Dayana's not a big fan of the show. her Daddy says it's because she's got chinese blood in her *roll eyes*.

she's getting really naughty these days up to the point that i've already lost my temper on a few occassions, sigh. probably because i'm irritated that i'm always feeling tired and heavy most of the time. 'belat', in Dayana's words. lol.

is anyone out there interested in property investment? Significant Other is a huge fan. we went for a property expo the weekend before and we got complimentary tickets to attend a talk by Milan Doshi held at Cititel MidValley last Saturday night. i've heard him speak at an expo in MidValley recently in May and i really enjoyed his talk (some speakers tend to drone on and on until i fall asleep). according to him, you can actually retire within the next 5 years by just accumulating about 3 million in loans, haha. tak percaya? he's done it. he's happy. why not you?

now imagine - even at 36 weeks, i was dragged to the never-miss PC-fair event on Sunday, lol. luckily Ashu was around to relieve us of Dayana, so it was only just the two of us (malas wanna enlist the maid's help, she isn't much of a multitasking person, sigh). it was rather late when we arrived at the fair, the crowd wasn't really body-to-body as i would have expected it to be (which was a real plus to me).

i bought an external harddisk, my current one has exceeded its limit and i need space to store photos of Dayana and the otw-squishy. Significant Other bought more RAM, thumbdrives (with bigger storage limit, i am jealous that his new pqi thumbdrive is really cute =P), and an Apacer player that can play different types of file formats (this was not in his original list).

i have too many photos to store @_@

ok i'm signing off now. to those who are expecting parcels from me, i apologize for not sending them on Saturday, TM Unifi camped out the whole day at my house (and unfortunately with very little progress) so i wasn't able to snake away earlier. i'll try to get them posted out by the week end, okay? thank you for understanding - i hope!
